"Had NHS letter today. Now have to wait for my GP to contact me. Need to ask if allowed vaccine.
See now, there seems to be a lot of different ways to be contacted. I just got a text from ma Doctor's on Thursday to book an appointment, I spent the best part of 5 hours trying to get through to no avail. Managed to get through to them yesterday afternoon and was booked in for Tuesday and ma follow up in May, not sure what flavour it's gonna be yet though "
Yes letter states I can book online. But due to not being allowed flu jab. Must wait for doctor to contact. I am hoping that I can have covid jab. If not means long long wait and shielding.Although not in high risk group |

"Nope, not even offered. I thought as I have auto-immune disease and cancer, I would have had it by now "
You are probably in group 6 my lovely but worth checking with your doctor.

Also we have an officially started on the group 6 yet so we just need to be a little bit patient but like I keep banging on about I think it's worth anybody who thinks they are vulnerable to this to contact their GP and make sure they are on the right category list. |

You'll be in cohort six. Letters are on way out inviting over next two weeks and GPs have been asked to focus on cohort six. So if your go knows about your condition (and they should as they have all cev details) you'll get an invite |

Sorry to hear that. I guess it depends on the medications you take. I have an autoimmune disease & take immunosuppressants. I am in Group 4 and a shielder because of it.
With regard to the cancer? I don't know. Please ring 111 or your GP for advice. And stay safe x |

"Are u all group 6? I've not heard anything yet x"
You probably won't have heard anything yet because they have only just started this group.
There is 9 million people in group 6 so will take a while.

Agree NHS and Care workers get vaccinated first, but then teachers and frontline workers, shop workers police teachers should be next ,as people who are shielding shouldn’t be at risk if following the rules. |

Seeing as the 1st 9 groups of the list make up 93% of all hospital admissions I would say a priority or there is about right.
Catching covid isn't necessarily a problem, Getting seriously ill with covid and ending up in hospital or passing it on to someone who could is. |

Firstly nobody can completely shield themselves themselves away because people still need medical treatment, carers coming in ect..
You are also assuming that people who are shielding live alone, So the entire household shouldn't go to work or do shopping? |

I'm in the vulnerable group.
Meant to have my flu jab today but was told they'd rather me not wait and rather I had the Covid vaccine instead so got to book it tomorrow |

I did when I got there, there were so many people, so much energy, so many volunteers giving up their time to help others. It was beautiful ![](/icons/s/2/heart.gif) |

Had my first one on Saturday so should get the second within the next 12 weeks but Mrs is still waiting to get hers, seems our gp is getting through the list quite quickly so hopefully she won't have to wait too long before she gets the call. |

Mine lasted 4 to 5 days and my arm felt hot to the touch. Had my second vaccination Friday (and took a paracetamol straight after, just in case) and the sore arm is much more mild. |

Mine was really sore the next day, but the end of the following day it was pretty much back to normal. I took paracetamol before and after.
I feel shattered though. |
