Opening Ceremony!

I watched the whole ceremony and just thought how fantastic is this and proud to be British I am. I was also on Facebook and noticed a few negative comments, it's a shame there had to be a few moaners. As the old saying goes, damned if we do and damned if we don't.

Congratulations to every single person involved in bringing this together, you all deserve a medal lol

It is very annoying that some people can only enjoy themselves if they are being negative about things. I actually feel proud to be British today. Now that is something I don't find myself saying very often.

I loved the whole show, Danny Boyle really is a genius and to me this was his best pievce of work since SlumDog Millionaire.

It was fantastic how the show was inclusive, including all 4 nations that make up Great Britain. It was brilliant how it showed how our country wentb through the Industrial Revolution, how it showed our achievements in music and film and literature and in invention such as the Web.

The highlights for me, that had me crying with laughter and later with pride was

1) The James Bond sequence with The Queen, and full respect to The Queen for allowing that sequence of events to be shown in that way on a world stage.

2) Mr Bean, enough said

3) The transformation of the "stage" from meadows to industrial towens and not forgetting to show off our multiculturism too.

4) The way the cauldron has been made so that all 204 nations competing are truely part of that flame

5) The lighting of the flame by up and coming sportsmen, a great idea

6) Becks on the boat

7) The audiance

A truely spectacular night, absolutely loved it, now here's hoping Mark Cav wins Gold today and that the swimmers achieve all they should do

Fab event! And HM parachuted in!

I have to say why oh why was Paul Mc used? Time to retire!!! Would have preferred Phil Collins or even Oasis!! Plenty of British talent that can sing! Maccas voice has gone!!

Still enjoyed every other part!

I can't stand Paul McCartney, he is always showing off so much, didn't like Arctic Monkeys either.

UKmale241 said it all for us.

We loved all the same highlights.

Very proud of the whole thing. (Even though I am Danish, technically speaking)

I watched the whole thing and was totally blown away by it all. I was a bit sceptical when I saw the models of it a few months back buy Danny Boyle knocked it out the part.

I thought the way the flame was lit and the way it moved into place was inspired.

Well done London, hope the rest of the games are every bit as good.
