You've found your people OP - Train to Busan is mentioned quite a bit on here and for good reason (it's bloody amazing). I loved The Lobster, odd but fantastic.
I'm going for Sightseers, Only Lovers Left Alive and The Taking of Deborah Logan/Rare Exports (although the latter is a bit more popular). |

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’ |
1. La Jetee - 1962 short film - it inspired Twelve Monkeys.
2. Cheech & Chong Up In Smoke (one of their best films - v. funny.)
3. The Producers the 1967 film is much better than the modern rebooted one! |

London/Essex... ish... Romford to be exact |
The Fountain
Infernal Affairs
Half Nelson
Maybe Warrior. Not sure how well known that film is compared to the others listed. Or Irreversible. By naming more I'm cheating now I know.

Snowpiercer - though it is a bit more known now since the Netflix adaption, and Parasite, which has the same director.
Empire Records - not exactly award winning material... But Rex Manning day!
Into the Wild - based upon a true story. |

"Train to Busan is a great pick!
I'd go with
1. Donnie Darko
2. Primal Fear
3. 12 Angry Men (1957)"
Donnie Darko is a classic and Primal Fear is one of my favourite movies. Great choices |

Has anyone seen Blue is the Warmest Colour? The sex scenes were unexpectedly intense. Even though I'm not a lesbian, through watching the film, it feels like I now know exactly what the experience is like to be fingered and to have my clit licked for hours upon hours. The sex scenes are more real than any amateur or professional porn movie. |

Me too. I've only seen it once during lockdown. Besides the sex scenes, the argument scene was so raw and realistic too. It got me so emotional lol. |

"Once were warriors a fab Maori movie.
The lobster is a strange one."
I'm not sure Once Were Warriors could be accurately described as "fabulous". Definitely a powerful film. Darklands is purely in Maori, set pro-European, and explores warrior culture and mysticism. |

I think that was her yes. Different types of films entirely though. Think POALOF was good, better than Girlhood for me. Makes it into my top two for French language lesbian love drama category for sure. |

Chef... Jon Faverau gem with a few cameos...makes you want to eat straight after it!
Begin Again/Sing Street.. both same director...the music is amazing for them both.. even if one has Keira Knightly singing occasionally!
The Lad ....based on true story of a young Yorkshire boy and the relationship between him and the park ranger he has to do community service for (available on Prime) made completely on location with amateur actors

Brazil. Terry Gilliam is the most stunning off the wall director, all his films are perfect.
Portrait of a woman on fire. Brilliantly observed developing lesbian relationship, deliberate absence of music.
Monos. Amazing film about young Columbian FARQ terrorists. One of the actors is an actual ex-terrorist. See if you can guess who. |

Yeah, perfectly understated film. Similar to what’s eating Gilbert grape in that respect.
Affleck nails the sorrowness if the character beautifully in my view. |

1) La Haine
2) Sideways
3) Juno
Also, agree with those praising Blue is the Warmest Colour. There is an electrifying scene based on eye contact when the characters are in the school canteen, which vividly evokes raw attraction.
So different from the sterile world of dating apps. |
