Don't listen to em G-Crumps!
Get yourself a chair like mine. Life changing and so much fun.
Invest the rest in your own happiness. Do things that will bring you joy.
Or, you could purchase a large plot of land and turn it into an animal rescue centre and employ me to be chief animal cuddler... ya know, if you're really stuck for ideas. |

If you don’t know what you’re doing be careful. Stick up to £20k in an isa (crap rates at the moment)
Then aim for a stocks and shares index tracker - there’s better returns out there but this is low maintenance and low work.
Keep 6 months salary easily accessible in easy access savings accounts |

That really is a good idea! I mean ......... with odds like those below ...
According to the National Lottery website, the odds of winning the major prizes are: Lotto jackpot: 1 in 45,057,474. EuroMillions jackpot: 1 in 139,838,160. Set For Life top prize: 1 in 15,339,390.

my adhd says SPEND IT ALL NOW...as i have done with a chunk of unexpected cash recently...opps
My professional financial self says save and invest. It all depend how much you got really but an advisor is a good idea or even check money matters website Martin Lewis will give plenty of options that are open to you and at the best rates.
TBH, It all depends if your bothered in what you invest in, for instance some folk want to invest in green industries only over the old oil mix packs. others want to invest in real estate or bonds and others don't care long as they make a few bucks.
Its tricky just now too because so many are teetering on the edge with cashflow issues. |

Dear Madam,
I have come across your postings. I am a Nigerian prince who has been exiled to the Netherlands. My country is in distress for many a year.
The revolution is almost over and I shall be king.
We however need the weapons. If you give me 95% I shall tripple it and return to you within a week.

Just do this if you know nothing about investing and aren't able to learn.
If you are learning investing then do so with only a small amount of money, it takes time and experience to get good but thoroughly learnable if you have the right temperament.
Following all the other suggestions here would require you to have the ability to assess the investment opportunity and decide if it's good or not. Not everyone possesses that skill and it can be very difficult to do well, which is why so many people get ripped off by financial services providers of one form or another. |
