Are you still conditioned by society ?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Women ever wondered why you sleep on the very edge of your king size bed even though there’s no one else there and you could easily sprawl out, it’s because of the patriarchy, you’ve been conditioned to take up as little space as possible in society.

But men have also been conditioned by societies rules, I only realised I’ve been leaving the toilet seat down in my place when it’s only me living there, it was like an eureka moment when I realised I didn’t have to leave it down anyway, shove it the matriarchy.

What have you been conditioned by society to do, even though you really don’t need to do it anymore, but do it anyway ?

As interesting as that op is and probably true of some I can assure you that the particular woman I share a bed with takes up more fucking room than you could ever imagine possible for such a tiny lady.

I have, but there’s nothing to scale it off, unless there’s a standard size for riding crop and to be honest I hadn’t got round to studying riding crops and their measurements yet.

Edinburgh (She/Her)

99% of the population is socially conditioned from birth. By definition it is hereditary and has been for 100s of years.

Only when those who begin to question the social conscript break free and change that conditioning can they pass on their learning.

However only a small percentage of that conditioning will change.

They will still confirm largely to social conditions.

Cook meals as the dutiful woman I am. I scoffed yesterday at the idea of beans on toast being a suitable meal, that's not dinner! And then I realised it was years of the patriarchy enforcing unfair notions on to little old me and it had seeped in to my cara_elised butternut squash and goats cheese risotto. So much pressure C J.

Okay. You are born. Most dress boys in blue. Girls in pink. Boys get toys - army/construction. Girls get dolls/kitchens..

Socially conditioned.

Grow older. Sexual exploration. Your gay, your bi, your whatever.

But you still follow social conditions. In your own social group and outwith.

Jobs, standing for a bus....

The condition that runs rife is that men are stronger than woman...

Equality will never truely be obtained for thousands of years.

Hope that explains it a little better.

So erm.... how is a woman that has never slept in a bed with a man that then chooses to sleep down just one side if it. Been conditioned by a patriarchal society?

Surely it’s because most of us, as children, have single beds and get used to being comfortable in that limited space?

You would think so, but this way off. As I stated earlier, patriarchy was on my word of the day toilet roll and I wanted to shoe horn it in somewhere to appease the gallery, I wasn’t expecting any questions on this matter, please refrain from using logic on my threads and just humour me.
