"Is it fun to laugh at folks living conditions?" Fully acceptable to expect someone to clean up before a meet. So yeah... I always remember turning up at a single girls place a few years back. Didnt realise she was living in her parents living room, they had just partitioned half of the room off. Was welcomed to a single mattress on the floor, crap and clothes everywhere. Worse part was , was that her parents were downstairs the whole time. So weird....didnt stop me though in all fairness lol S x | |||

Funnily enough my front garden is a tip at the moment. 2 sofas and a chair. It looks like something from shameless. I can't afford a skip just yet, I don't drive so can't take it to the tip. "When i was a single i met a woman and went back to her place to play. She only put a dim small lamp on in the living room when we got to hers. The house did not smell great at all she went to make a cuppa and i had a keyring torch on my car keys. Put it on and there was cat shit on the floor everywhere. Asked if i could use the toilet and just legged it. The house was stinking. Had a long shower when i got in and put all my cloths on a 60 degree wash. How can people live like that ffs. I had bare floor as I say, and that was splattered with paint, the stairs were bare plaster, my bedroom needed a freshen and there were holes in the living room wall. Urgh, and mould and peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, you know that tile on a roll stuff. So, nearing the end of last lockdown I put a shout out on FB asking if anyone local had any leftover paint. The next morning there were 5 tins on my doorstep. A friend from here who does charity work thought I may qualify for a grant for women who live alone, you tell them what you want and they order you the tools and equipment up to a certain amount. I qualified. It's to help empower women, so they don't feel they need a man to help with the fixing and stuff. So, I got some wallpaper, tools, patching plaster and a few other bits. I did my bedroom first with the leftover paint that had been donated. Then I stripped the bathroom, sorted that and painted it. Then, when all the stuff arrived from the charity I, for the first time in my life used patching plaster to fix the holes and wallpapered. I did the best I could with what I had and no spare money. As most people know my friends did the wonderful thing of carpeting for me and decorated the stairs which I'd have never reached with a ladder and a pole. They fixed a few things too all for my Xmas present. They spent about a grand all in. My house wouldn't be in the condition it's in now without the help and gifts from others, I simply couldn't afford it. So yes, cleanliness is one thing. The rest .... well, doesn't mean someone is lazy, it could just mean they're struggling financially and keeping the roof OVER their head is more important than what's within the walls. But a living room plastered in new and very old cat shit is completely different. She did not have any mental issues as far as o could tell also. But who knows. My garden however looks like a scrap yard because we have so many vehicles and sheds between 2 houses and several are in repair...but they are getting fixed, just slow process & scrap they are not...there's money in everything if you know how. and the rugh casting got redone so there's all that mess all over the garden including a broken fence.
My house is a mismatch of furniture because its mostly from charity shops, one for financial reasons but also environmental reasons, never had my own place so decor is limited by whomever owns it as is repairs...some landlords don't care.
(can only drive one vehicle at a time before anyone starts & we plant to offset lifetime co2 on these)
It's only when your counting the pennies that you realise how much of a luxury it is just to paint a simple flipping wall
It surprises me how many people think that this pit isn't open to them & they'll never do it...I hope you don't but you never know what the future holds.
