Manic Street preachers

They just didn't work with the crowd.

Catalonia who were their support were far better

Me first. Ash. I don’t like then, then half way through a crowd surfers heel made a lovely purple bruise around my bloody eye.

One black eye in my like...and it was at Leeds festival watching Ash. Wish it was more rock and roll

Ósais 98 Medowlands NJ

They were shite, Liam spent more time trying to rip the piss out of the American crowd and playing hard man to the few Brits in attendance than singing songs,

We were back in our local in NYC before the gig finished I'd say,

Never liked them after, as a result.

There and to the left a bit

Two of the worst I have seen have been Madness and The Style Council - both bands I love and in the case of Madness have seen them 50+ times and some of those gigs are amongst the best I have ever seen....but there have been times I've seen them where they've obviously been going through the motions, times they've not rehearsed and it's shown

The Style Council I only saw once, at the Albert Hall, was one of their last ever gigs - Weller was in full on "I'll do what I want and fuck everybody" mode - played none of the hits, kept bringing on guests and hip-hop artists and the like and it went down awfully - one of the few gigs I have been to where the audience remained seated throughout.

I was always Blur myself. Did see the high flying birds on their first tour...Noel actually was great. I didn’t expect much but it was a great gig. Shame he’s turned into a twat

Rem supporting u2 at the Milton Keynes midsummer nights bowl...in the rain and mud...micheal stipe wanted to tell the crowd all kinds of lovely messages... The crowd wanted him to shut up and play... They were bottled off stage.

The cure Wycombe town hall killing an Arab vintage... In front of about 20 people...

The Enid at fryars Aylesbury... Sitting down in circles and holding hands and sharing the love didn't go down too well...

My hero Paul Weller at the roundhouse Camden... He was being a right cxxt.

Saw Oasis.. They were d up, and played everything too fast.. which ruins the songs.. Also Liam is a poor live singer.. Great on record, but he doesn't look after his voice, so just has to shout.

Hole were shockingly bad at Reading Festival 1994,allegedly to Courtney Loves grief. That would maybe be a reason for a bad set but being well out of turn and off her face may have had something to do with her performance.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I have never been so disappointed at a gig. Didn't look interested and Anthony Keidis flounced off stage during the encore leaving the rest of the band to do an impromptu jam to wrap things up.

Also Limp Bizkit. Went to see them purely for nostalgia and realised it was a bad idea.

Believe it or not.... Robbie Williams at Middlesbrough Town Hall. He had a very brief "limbo" mode before he went global as a solo. Town Hall booked him, sold it out and he was boring as fuck, very little interaction and seemed lost without take that.

Cue 12 months later and he's the biggest thing in mainstream music for a decade.
