As a male I have been on and off this site for around ten year's now. Normaly deleting account them coming back etc. It seems the number of fake profiles is getting out of hand on here. Is this just the new trend thanks to onlyfans and other selling pages etc to try and get new customers over to there sites? Or is it still just guys pretending to be female's. I never remember fab been this bad for it.

I personally think everyone who joins the site should have to be verified.

But then saying that I am on dating sites as well. And it seems to be just as out of control on them as it is here. Is this the new weird online world we now live in?

It is what it is, for us, we'd consider yours to be sketchy! we don't trust the 'been here before, anyone who remembers me, please verify!' etc.

'been on and off for years' :P

I suppose it's all subjective really! :P

If you see anything against site rules, report. As all things online, use your instincts and critical thinking.

As women will be doing too.

There's a lot of people with time on their hands.

Conspiracy theories, fakes on dating sites, trolling on FB, it seems these are all symptoms.

As I'm not meeting, and only chatting to a handful of people it doesn't bother me too much.

We love the so called fakes as the only thing that they waste with us is their own time which is fine by us.

The way we approach fab offers us protection from the so called fakes and it works well for us as in the past we fell foul of plenty of time wasters which rather dampened our adventure but now my wife is Uber comfortable with it.

I find a lot of men think people are fake because they get no replies or meets but always remember fakes are people too!!!!

Bless them.

If you are labelling people in profiles fake OP, you should be telling us what it is, not asking, surely?

I don't see many fakes but am fussy and experienced. With no meets happening, it gives people time to fall through the ctacks. I ignore requests to go off site, that's s deal breaker for me. Report inappropriate behaviour from users to Admin always

OP if you've been on the site for 10 years I'd have thought ypur fake-dar would be quite well honed by now?

Plenty of genuine people on here, maybe focus on them.

I do try but find it very hard to strike up conversations on here these days.

There seems little point in reporting as nothing seems to be done - I've reported fake accounts (even providing the original source of their images) and they're still active with the photos on show months later

I’m now paranoid that people think I have a fake profile.

Oh my..I thought I'm the only one with this suspicion.

Not necessarily fake but also potential fantasists.

We tend to ask for a photo with a household object which is hard to fake.

Some of them are crafty though, must be taking photos of girlfriends on kik camera and shes oblivious to why.

What's worrying is a fair few have had verification from other profiles.

There and to the left a bit

I guess it depends how you define "fake" OP - for me the *only* definition would be someone who is posing as someone they are not.

Others using the site who may also have an OnlyFans account, or aren't looking to meet, or are using the site to promote their pics etc aren't fakes, they're just people who don't match with what I am looking for.

I tend to find it works better to focus on my use of the site rather than worry about other people's

Being verified doesn't guarantee anything.

We've chatted with a (cam) verified fem profile, that turned out to be a bloke.

We've also had some random guy give us a cam veri, when we haven't been in the chatroom for 5 weeks, have no idea who this guy is and have never shown our faces on cam (which we can't remove from our veri summary apparently!)

No system is water tight.

Where's there's a will, there's a way - some people will always abuse the system for their own ends, it's just a matter of finding the gems that still exist.

It's far too easy for a guy to verify his 'fake female' profile.

Caution is required.

I don't know most people seem to be ok when there a fake you can tell a mile off the main thing that annoys me is if I pic swap or talk further with people then they screenshot and post pictures of me on there page like I'm with them just yesterday I reported someone genuine lots of veris but they had a pic up of me and someone else watermarked with there name

Just because they have no interest in you doesn’t mean they are fake.

I am called “fake” and a “timewaster” at least oncea day.

Do I think the only fans people are abusing the site? Yes.

However, the same could be said for anyone who's not upfront about their intentions or people you find out are married once you've been speaking to them for a while and the info wasn't on their profile to start with.

I've never been caught out by a fake profile but that's because I'm fussy who I chat to.

However in the last few months I've had 3 verified male profiles steal my bio and use it as their own.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but this took a different turn when one of those profiles also stole my pics and started sending abusive messages to women with my pics attached.

I've reported all 3 profiles but they are still active. These are not new profiles but are long term members.

I'm also well aware of prominent forum posters who create second or third profiles to troll or use as honeytraps.

They openly reference the other profiles in verifications and it's an in joke among their friends.

With the lockdowns as well you have a lot more people on hear to fill time with no intentions of ever having to go through with anything and a lot of them are adding to the fakes and time wasters atm
