How far do you walk in a day, not including dedicated exercise, but just your general moving about in a day?
I do around 3 miles a day which I didn't think was too bad considering I sit at an office desk for 7 hours a day. |

Now I have time on my hands I aim for 6 miles a day which is about 15000 steps.
It's difficult at the moment to find motivation to go out in the cold rain |

You must have little legs, I do 6 miles and that's 10,000 steps for me. |

In account of no longer having a car, I walk wherever I need to go. I also have a very energetic little dog that ensures I can never truly have a lazy day. I clock up about 3-5 miles a day on average but depending on how busy I am it can be more. |

"Some people exercise their bodies (fair play to you), I prefer to exercise my mind, which is why I have been thinking about exercising my body for the last 5 years. "

Haha no I haven't- I'm not a short arse I'm 5ft 7
I just looked at my Fitbit and I've done 17250 steps which is nearly 8 miles apparently.
But I guess it does depend on the length of your stride. |

Or it could just be different apps measuring differently - have started walking in the past week and have both Google Fit (linked to my phone) and Samsung Health (linked to my watch) switched on - is about a 45 minute brisk walk of about 6000 steps.
Samsung Health measures it at approx 5km - Google Fit measures the same walk at approx 3.8km
Did some research and a lot of people find the same disparity with Google Fit which comes down to it using GPS signals for your location to track distance or something similar. |

You're I think maybe pedometers on your phone aren't as accurate as watches that are worn and measure your heart rate etc ..
I love my Fitbit as it inspires me to be more active with the challenges etc .. |

The thing is the step count matches (roughly) between phone and watch - it's the distance that step count equates to that doesn't |
