I cut my hair today for the first time ever. What others have done during Lockdown regarding hair care?

To be honest I only had my hair cut once in 2020, and having had a quick new year trim as we began 2021, it might be a while before I bother again.

Desperate to get a haircut. Last time, I shaved it all off.

It's not as warm weather-wise this time so might just wait until the barbers open up again

I bleached (big mistake!) a piece of my long fringe with the idea being it would go white and frame my face and blend in with my grey/dark hair.

Only it never went white blonde, it went ginger. So now I have tri colour hair. I’m styling it out now and pretending I meant it to go that colour.

I certainly hope so! My hair is thick and tends to grow out rather than down but I reckon I can peer through

I cut about five or six inches off the other day as I wanted a change and the ends were dead. It's a little wonky but I love it. I've not had hair this short for a very long time.

I only visit hairdressers once a year so I'm not missing them too much luckily. But so many are doing sneaky mobile appointments anyway.

Let it grow. I'm so happy with the length it's getting finally. Little heat tools and it's growing beautifully. Soon I will have a mane of hair and my hairdresser won't take it away from me.

My eyebrows are just delicate. They need next to none shaping but bit more colour! I have long lashes naturally just not as dark as my hair on the head

Please message me the name I will give it a go.

From the land of haribos.

I have cut my own hair for many years. I have a high fade with shaved sides. I have nr3 on top then I use the razor blade for the sides, to get the side fade I use nr3 then 2 and 1, start with the highest number first, it is very easy to do

I’ve managed to get mine cut before each of the lockdowns occurred

I colour my own hair. I’ve seen my hairdresser cut my fringe often enough to have a go and keep it in half decent shape

I use olaplex products to keep my hair in really good condition

Olaplex products are fab swear by them.

I've trimmed my fringe. I tend to steer clear of heat 90% of the time by doing a vintage wetset my roots could do with a top up but use hair scarfs or berets if I don't feel like rocking it.

My hair didn't get cut at all in 2020 and 2021 isn't looking very likely so far either

I've dyed it, to hide the grey, a couple of times with a home kit.

Most of the time I just tie it up because it really is getting a bit wild.

I cut mine off myself to be honest. The front isn't to bad but trying trimming the back when you can't see properly is just a nightmare but then as an 80s kid... the nightmare of your own dad putting a bowl over your head to cut round the edges still runs deep so less hair is better than living through that depressing moment lol every story has a happy ending though.. the bowl has long been burnt lol

I think I'm due a trim now but my hair is ok and just gets longer than i like it during lockdown. It's very curly and i just wash and condition it then leave it to dry naturally. I never use any heat on it so it's in great condition.

I’m incredibly lucky my stepmum is a hairdresser so she does mine. Flynn gets his done every 2 weeks when things are normal (got to keep that fresh fade lol) he’s struggling at the moment but I like his hair a little longer it goes curly

I have been growing out my fringe for the past few months, & thankfully had the rest of my hair cut just prior to lockdown, so it looks fine. I could manage to go without a cut for a year to be fair, it would just grow out of my current bob into a long bob lol.

I have been experimenting during lockdown though with different partings in my hair, and learning how to curl it well using a flat iron! The experimenting is going well, and I may buy myself a rounded curling tong next!

Just wish I had a night out planned to be able to glam up FOR!!

One of the positives of lockdown is the upskilling. You can afford to play around, trial and error. You will be a pro when lockdown ceases.
