Im unclear of the proper decinition of a one night stand.

Is it the first and only time you sleep with someone...then never sleep with them again and or never see them again?

Or is it sleep with stranger and never see them again?

I've always thought of it as meet someone you don't know, usually on night out, have sex. The end.

Having sex with someone you know, just once, I'd call a one off.

Yeah I’m in agreement, night out and have sex with complete stranger who you won’t see again, wife had her first one in the summer last year.

I could equally apply to both I guess, but it’s just more common to use it for one-off sex with a stranger.
