Tickle me endlessly, here and in the flesh .......
Why do people quote someone from history and think this constitutes a proof .....
If someone talks bollocks it doesn't matter if it was in Biblical, Victorian or the Johnsonian period......
Bollocks is bollocks......
Put your most quoted bollocks here..... it'll be believed.

On a slightly related note, it absolutely bursts my testicles seeing people in social media make some little quote in picture form and pass themselves off as some sort of modern Shakespear.
"If he doesn't text asking how you are, he isn't for you, babe"
With like a beach in the background or better yet, Marylin Munroe or something.
Horrific

When celebrities and influencers spout arbitrary shit and then coin it off as some kind of life-improvement mantra...
Cheryl Cole in Tesco
‘They said I had less then 10 items so could go in the basket aisle, but I stayed in line... follow your own path’
*stolen form Joe Lycett, but still relevant |

Agreed. I'm going to add quotes that are found on those signs for kitchens/living rooms whatever with random italics, capital letters saying things such as "Never stop learning because life never stops teaching". |

One that seems to be very popular in my neck if the woods is "love many, trust few, learn to paddle your own canoe", usually in a faux gilt shabby chic frame. Usually near the bread bin. |

The one that boils my piss is ‘Everything happens for a reason!’
Oh does it really Karen, so all those bad things that happen to good good people was for some great plan we know nothing about and what about all those assholes who had nothing but charmed lives, did that happen for a reason too.
Events are random, the universe is random, nothing happens for a reason, it just happens and we have to somehow deal with it. The universe doesn’t care about you, it doesn’t like you it doesn’t dislike you, think of all the shitty things in history that happened to people who did nothing to deserve them, the only consolation is we all end up in the same place.
Have a great day, all you good good people and stay safe if you can. |

I guess if other people think it's less bollocks and it helps them through life then maybe it IS less bollocks. I'm big and ugly enough to make up my own mind about what people quote me and whether it's bollocks or not, but I wouldn't want to stop people trying to to spread a message they thought had helped them |

One thing that annoys me is the adverts for really cringey t-shirts on Facebook.
It'll be like a picture of a skull or something with something like I was born in January, Im a gentleman, but disrespect me I'm a nightmare etc. |

I tend to agree with you there.
I also think "live, love, laugh" is quite a good thing to keep in mind. |

Facebook is quite possibly the worst website/app in the world. A who's who' of the dregs of society. The ones that make those t shirts, quotes etc are usually the ones that post the generic "karma is a b**Ch hahaha" type posts so that people can reply with "what's happened??xx"
Or better yet, the check-in posts at the local hospital
"What's wrong Hun???xx"
