I havent been sleeping well so decided to look at relaxing sounds to help soothe me

So far I have tried rain, storms and crackling fire.

Is there a particular sound which sends you off to sleep?

Sounds of the sea never fails. I always ask Alexa to play either rain or sea sounds at bedtime

Crackling fire isnt soothing i can tell you that.

White noise.

It either works or it doesn't. It is worth a try though.

I like calming sounds but I can’t get on with piano or opera ... thunderstorm sounds seem to work

Have you tried a guided meditation? Something like a body scan?

thats one of the noises alexa has

i used to do rain forest but eventually i tuned into the birds too much to relax with it

waves are nice to relax but not a constant enough sound for sleep for me which is why the wind is sometimes a good one ... plus extra bonus as someone who sleeps with the window open ... when the weather gets bad and everone is moaning about the wind keeping them up all night... i have the best nights sleep ever

I have, but seem to jolt myself out of it. Subconsciously worried one of my children may appear and scare the shit out of me.

I’ve used an app called Calm for the last couple of years. There’s so many different relaxation and sleep techniques on there!! Everything from bedtime stories to ASMR.

I think the rain always work for me or water sounds, some of the asmr videos are good if you find a sound you like, pouring and mixing drinks over ice and all the stirring noises can be great

The guy that does it has a fantastic voice, and it draws you in.

Before you know it, your on a ship, just waiting to hear your area.
