"Oh balls, I've just made some Yorkshire pudding mix and the oven is on.
Yorkies for supper then!"
They always rise better after the mix has been in the fridge overnight anyway |

"Chips, fried rice and curry sauce please "
This half rice half chips thing bemuses me, but I'll give it a go.
Do they still do cod roe in the north? None of the chippies here do it anymore. Cod, cod roe, chips, curry sauce, bottle of white, decent film, cracking night in. |

It's not something I've noticed but I'm vegetarian so don't really pay attention. I have seen spam fritters though and battered mars bars. |

"Doing Burn’s supper tonight. And probably tomorrow as well.
Yes! Haggis puts the super in supper! Such an underrated chippy choice. "
I had a type of black pudding but it was sweet for breakfast when I was in Scotland.....? |

Probably white pudding. Has raisins in it and no blood. |

I haven't had fish and chips from a chippy in years.
Around my way it's about £15 for a regular size cod and chips
But thats what I would have if I was having it.
With only a few chips with salt and vinegar, baked beans and coleslaw.
Bread and butter as well if I really wanted to go into food coma |

Where in the name of all that is holy do you live?! Our local Chinese chippy is £3.50 for fish, £1.80 for regular chips or £2.30 for large chips (more than enough for 3 + a small child!)
A Chinese meal for two of us, plus delivery from there is around £16-18. |

Bargain!
I spend a lot of time in Manchester and the North vs South price difference is huge
I live in the Home Counties- most people have more money than sense.
I'm not one of them
I don't have any sense either |

*Makes note not to go to the Home Counties fish 'n' chip shops*
We went to our local "artisan food hall" which has a butcher counter and got enough rump steak for the three of us for tomorrow for £15. I think that's pretty decent too |
