"Aren't both a little too predictable..? I prefer to think outside the box "
Yes, but they are generally the safer option. Go out on a limb and try to be smart, might get the door slammed in your face. Maybe the second meet after you have made a better assessment. |

Depends on the reason. If just met its a bit corny, saying that one guy I had a social meet with brought me a bottle of red wine but we had chatted about wine at some stage. |

Love love love love love flowers, or a house plant.
I wouldn't be freaked out by someone getting me any either. Same way if someone had mentioned they liked I dunno, Parma Violets and I grabbed a packet from the shop coz I thought they'd appreciate it. No biggie |

"Flowers last longer than chocolates and therefore the memories last longer just my humble opinion
but to be fair cream cakes are more fun "
Ah yeah you can look at the flowers as they wither and die and contemplate the nature of relationships. Just saying ') |

I wouldn't feel comfortable being given flowers on a meet. It kind of indicates that feelings are involved and therefore my gut feeling would be to back away.
Now, turning up with some chocolate or food snacks is a great idea as we would both (or all) need to keep our energy levels up.

The gesture means more than the item. If someone brought me a bunch of my favourite flowers because they’d listened to me talk about them, that would mean more than a random expensive bottle of wine.

One of the nicest gifts I received from a lover was an inscripted book we'd discussed. That level of thought meant a lot. |

Neither. I don't eat chocolate and flowers belong growing, not grown to be cut, transported around the world and put in a vase to die. I don't drink either so a pain to buy safe for!
If I don't know someone, I don't buy them anything but depending on the occasion, I may write them a card.
All other gifts are small and personal; nice coffee or tea for example.
In the past I've been given gorgeous butter from grass fed cows and I loved it |

I don't like cut flowers...the only gift of flowers I've ever truly liked was when an ex grew some sunflowers for me, they're my favourite flowers and he grew them in pots hidden from me until they flowered
I'd much rather some random small thing that I've talked about, like favourite sweets or a book...it shows they actually listen to me. Or a handwritten note or card. |
