So I was on another site (a bike site) and I didn't realise that people did not know that cottaging and dogging went on in rest stops and truck stops.
I have always known even since I was little that you don't go to truck stops, you go to proper services. My mum always said that people did "bad things" in truck stops and that was that, obviously as i got older i was curious about it and found out on the internet about cottaging and dogging but apparently there are people who have lived in a complete bubble about it.
Am I (and my friends) the norm or are we the weird ones for knowing about the goings on in truck stops and rest stops?
Did you know?

To be truthful, it was rife near us for years until the cottages (old style toilets) were all shut.
Layby and services are still busy now and then.
Dogging is different now.
Oh the times they are a changing.....that Bob Dylan was right y'know |

"doubt you will find any of the old cottaging toilets now and doggers spots are being shut down. So it will just be the oldies that know about that stuff in times to come"
Apparently one truck stop off the A1 somewhere up north shocked some very vanilla bikers from a site im on... ( hence the post) with 3 burly gentleman having an encounter in the cottage/toilets there |

Erm... yes for an awfully awfully awfully awfully long time now. Piques my inner perve, but I'd find better places with a bit more 'joie de vivre' than that!

The large lay-by on the A45 bordering the Irchester Country Park near Wellingborough is no longer used for dogging. The Council have put up a spiked metal 7ft fence to stop anyone going in that way.. The other entrance has loads of CCTV..
Loads of families used to park in the lay-by to walk through the woods at the weekends, now because of irresponsible people, it has been closed off and we all have to pay as they have also invoked a 24/7 car park charge and you have to put part of your registration on the ticket. That way, if you are on CCTV and no ticket, you get one through the post!
We have been told that they introduced the charge so they can legitimately get the details of the drivers because a council paring fine is legally binding! It also tells the authorities who has been there at odd times.. So even if we wanted to get out there in the evening in the dark and walk (which we love doing) we would just be tarred with the "dogger" brush!
People like us who used to go walking in the park in the rain and murky weather now don't bother! Even for a swinger, it is disconcerting to happen across a couple and some single guys getting jiggy in the woods during the day.... Quite why they have to choose popular public spots when there is a wealth of countryside out there....

We know the place you mean.
We don't agree with how the few people who fuck it up for others. They have no respect or decorum and don't care about the welfare of others and give dogging a bad name.
Its usually the daytime gay brigade that ruin it for everyone. |

I can tell you, it wasn't the "daytime gay brigade" it was doggers! We actually saw some fairly near to the lay-by in the woods, clearly visible! Not only that, they had also stopped dog walkers using the park in the evenings because of their total disregard for what most deem decent! Now CCTV is insatlled, it has got better, but now I have to pay for parking whereas before we didn't.
Doggers may well get off on the thought of being caught or seen, but what about others rights not to have to walk into a scene from a porn movie? We have outdoor pictures, but I can tell you, they were all taken well away from anywhere that normal members of the public are allowed.
No, in my opinion, Doggers of any type if they use places that the public use, are nothing but selfish! IMHO! |
