We don't have a loft that's worthy of using. Instead we have an outbuilding that is absolutely rammed full of junk. We need to find time to have a huge bonfire.

I have two lofts as I built an extension so I rather craftily divided the stuff into one side junk I don’t need and the other junk I don’t use.

The loft in my last house was a disgrace. I was too scared to go in it so I used to just open the hatch and throw things as far as I could in, never to be seen again.

I have a cellar instead now and that's pretty organised - Christmas things, a selection of bikes and scooters and boxes of sentimental things/photos.

Lots of people are afraid of their lofts! Apart from Princess Peach and her giant Tinkywinky, which is truly terrifying, what is so scary? I used to love going up into my parent's loft as a kid. It was a quiet place away from my siblings full of cool stuff.

If that purple cunt wasn't lurking in the shadows up there the only thing that puts me off is the tiny hatch, like I barely fit through the hole and how itchy the insulation is when it gets on your skin.

Oh, I'm also weary of falling through coz if the loft is anything like the rest of the house, it's been bodged and isn't to be trusted!

The loft when I was younger was a scary place filled with cobwebs and dark areas of menace and terror. Once there was a bat Nell. A bat.

My imagination now is a lot more vivid and fueled by a love of horror stories and films and thanks to Princess Peach there could be a giant TinkyWinky up there from the previous owners.

I'll Trump your tinkywinky( never thought that's a sentence I'd ever use) with a big gay Santa.

Father in law got us a 4ft high what can only be described as gay Santa.

Golden pink outfit holding some kind of wand and silver bells hanging off his wrists, hat is like pink sequins and gold piping.

Mrs had to put him in the lounge, I swear he kept winking at me.

He's now safely wrapped up in a black plastic bag in loft exactly where all creepy shit like that should be.

Honestly he'd give Annabel a scare!!

Bats are cool! I'm quite envious you had one! I know someone who hoovered up a family of pipistrells when they discovered them in their loft. I was appalled.

You know the bog of eternal stench in Labyrinth? If one toe even touches it you stink forever? Well, my dad told me when I was little that the yellow stuff in the loft was like that - if it touched any part of your skin you'd itch for the rest of your life. I know now that he was exaggerating somewhat, but I'm traumatised! Plus, mine's didn't have a real floor, just beams. And beasties. And it was dark. And I don't like heights. Yup, defo scary!

In my old house my boiler was in the attic. 1200 suitcases, 10 boxes of Christmas decorations, 3 Christmas trees. Those nude playing cards you get in Greece on holiday (no? Just me then) and the biggest spiders had moved in and had set up base camp just at the top of the bloody ladder.

You may not know this about me, but I hate spiders

Fortunately my loft had been properly setup with floors and roof isolation by the previous owner, so I have space to install my computers and my storage server into a small cabinet (yes, I am a geek). The rest of the space is occupied by empty suitcases, kitchen stuff I can't store in the kitchen (and don't use that often), stuff for summer (folding chairs, a lot of empty moving boxes and a lot of junk that I should get rid off when the recycling centre is open again.

And there is even space for a boiler
