No judgement, but I've never understood this.
Is it because people feel unable to moderate or stop unless it's a particular month of the year?
I did read that many follow a dry Jan with a very wet Feb that can actually be more damaging than ordinary moderation.
No, I just drink as I've always done in my adult life, moderately.

For me personally, wifeys b'day is in January also a very sociable person. So whilst we can't go out trying something different. I think Most do it after too much at Christmas time. |

I hardly drink anyway, once every few months at most. I keep meaning to go back to no sugar/low carb, but with so much xmas chocolate in the house I'm not faring very well. |

If you're gonna take a month off why pick the coldest, darkest, most miserable month of the year? Have a drink ffs. Just don't go mad. If you want a teetotal month why not pick a brighter one?
Never understood doing penance for having had fun.

I don't drink much anyway and it's not uncommon to not drink alcohol for a month or so.
Rather than having a non drinking month I think it would be better to come up with something to help reduce overall consumption. Lots of people drink more than they realise and the current situation hasn't helped. |

I think it’s more intended as a bit of a detox after the festive season. Plus most people can’t afford to go out after Christmas (in normal years).
I’m not doing dry January, I’m no quitter.
In all seriousness though, I only drink socially. Thankfully I’m very sociable.
