Off the back of the "Showering daily" thread, who else suffers with sensitive skin, eczema or the such like?
My skin is highly sensitive, I'm allergic to everything and get bouts of eczema is certain places. I should have shares in moisturiser and steroid cream companies the amount I go through.
If I shower daily I end up ripping myself to shreds not matter how much cream I use (I'm not dirty btw) |

Super sensitive skin, eczema, psoriasis and hydredentis suprativa, cystic acne.
My skin is a nightmare.
Finding something that your skin likes is the key. Thankfully I don't suffer with dryness anywhere near like I used to thanks to finding products that work for me. Good job really cos I spend half my life in the tub!

I have very sensitive skin and can only use certain shower gel as some make my skin red and blotchy.

I get excema when stressed.
I had massive flare ups on the calves of my legs when my Grampy passed away that took ages to heal and since then I get occasional flare ups but more regularly I get it on the bottom of my leg where it joins the foot.
I use various natural oils like Almond oil to ease the dryness. |

I get dry itchy skin as a byproduct of taking statins.... I use a product called Doublebase available either on prescription or over the counter . Excellent stuff, mildly medicated and non sticky. |

My hands do that too and unfortunately my daughter has taken after her mum and has the same problems. Vaseline seems to be working for us at the moment. |

I can reccomend a couple of spoons of coconut oil melted in a warm bath to help moisture the skin, and I couldn't go a day without an antihistamine even in the winter. |

It just washes away protective oils in your skin and can do more harm than good. |

I have sensitive skin too. I use baby wipes mostly which are great for sensitive skin and coconut based products for showering. Micellar water is good for cleaning your face too |

Meeeeeeeeee! I don't have eczema but water dries the hell out of my skin and makes it all grey and flaky. That's why showering twice a day just isn't feasible because I also moisturise after every shower or else I get very itchy and uncomfortable |

I have sensitive skin too it’s awful this time of year I use nivea shower cream it’s lovely I moisturise after try and keep my skin moisturised the best I can & as a preventative... but it’s still not great envious of people I know with amazing skin and do nothing what is do for that haha. x
In summer I take cold showers and this time of year luke/warm cold helps a lot too. x
I use nivea shower cream, simple face moisturiser after and coconut oil or aveeno moisturiser on my body after it’s really helped a lot doing my little routine. |

I use sensitive baby wipes as make up wipes, they are the only thing I've ever found to work at removing all my make up and not make me look like I've just been slapped round the face at the same time. |

If I bath I use a baby bubble bath and add in centraban. For showers I use a sensitive skin one but literally have to cover myself after in moisturiser (not scented) and steroid based creams.
I have had advice of trying oats in a sock and running the water through it.... |

Yep very sensitive have numerous severe allergies along with Hidradenitis Suppurative, Seborrhoeic Dermatitis and Folliculitis.
Has taken me years to find what works and what doesn't along with diet etc. Still have flare ups but nowhere near as bad. For the shower I stick with Simple and for the bath I go between Simple and Epsom Salts and have prescription moisturisers etc. Touch wood haven't had to be on steroids for my allergies for 4 years now

I don't even have sensitive skin but reading some of those comments about showering 3 times a day made my skin hurt. I try not to shower more than once a day so my skin doesn't get really tight and itchy and if I have to I keep them as short and cool as possible. I don't wash my face in the shower too as my skin hates it. |

SS stopped me from using any sort of shower gel when my eczema flared up as he said it's akin to using washing up liquid on your skin and strips all of your natural oils and skin bacteria. He's ok with simple soap or aqueous cream used as a soap substitute.
He suggested that I apply a smear of Vaseline to all of the affected areas every night and then wear a pair of cotton pjs with cortton socks and cotton gloves. The gloves help as getting Vaseline off your fingers after smearing it on is a real bastard!
Wearing the same clothing every night resulted in manky grey looking clothing but after a few days my skin really improved.
For acne think about using live natural yoghurt as a daily face / skin mask. Allow it to dry and rinse off just with warm water. Never squeeze the spots!
If the acne is really troublesome then pester your doctor for suitable antibiotics and if these don't improve things ask for a referral to a dermatologist. Definitely don't just put up with it.

I have really dry patches on my calf area atm, sometimes I scratch it in the night without knowing. Vaseline definitely helps if it's wounded but I like Aveeno skin relief when it's just dry. |

For those with sensitive skin, try ‘Child’s Farm’ products. I use the body wash (on my face) and the unscented moisturiser. I’ve tried so many products over the years and nothing has worked as good as Child’s Farm. |

I've had sensitive skin since very little. I get eczema breakouts or it just never shifting, irritations, etc. It's a painful condition. I am formulaic, just repeating what seems to cause the least problems, which is far from living freely and comfortably. Oats run into the bathwater has been good and at least it's fairly natural.
I've had it prevent me from having meets before and can be a reason for subdued lighting. |

I use their products on my daughter. There few things on the market including children's products that she can use but these are brilliant. |

I get dry skin on my legs but only during the winter months. Hands and forearms also |

I know someone who cleared up her son's eczema by using goat's milk soap. Olive oil soap might also have the same effect? I've heard Neal's Yard products can be very good for those with skin conditions. I'd suggest trying products with as few ingredients in as possible, to minimise potential allergens.
I've found washing in our hard water gives me tight, itchy and flaky skin. Softening the water with magnesium or other salts, or rinsing with apple cider vinegar solution helps rebalance my skin PH and prevent hard water symptoms. |

You should try a tube of glysolid cream, apply at night to your hands before you fall asleep. I swear by it. Buy from makers direct though as many fakes on ebay etc. |

Does anyone know of anything safe to use around the eye area but strong?
My psoriasis decided to flare up on my eye lid everytime I'm stressed out and the usual eye creams don't help with it at all just make it sting for a while. |

The only products I can use around my eyes are The Ordinary, and not even the specific eye cream. Just the Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. I had horrific eczema around my eyes and mouth a couple of years ago and this stuff really soothed it. |

I haven’t found anything to cure my psoriasis but putting Vaseline on it when it is sore seals and soothes it and helps it soften. If you use it on your eyelids you will find that your eye may get an oily film over it so probably best overnight. |

I have very sensitive and dry skin, Contact Dermititus plus Rosacea. I have Sjogrens Syndrome which causes (among many other things) very dry skin.
I bath every day, sometimes twice a day, i have found products that work well for me, baby bath is good, Body Shop products are good, Simple products are good. I use prescribed moisturisers although i'm not keen on it as it doesn't soak in well, i also use Body Shop products and a few other lightly scented ones. I also have prescribed steriod cream. I use a prescribed antibacterial cream for my face then use Simple moisturiser on top that has a sun screen in it. |

Oh this one might be a bit much for some people, I have excema I'm supposed to use dermol in the shower but shower emollients are rubbish and don't make me feel clean at all. So I've taken to washing my entire body with feminine wash, even the cheap ones are soap free and contain some kind of moisturiser apparently. It's really saved me a few times |

I find SBC products work for me and my family..propolis gel and shower creme is lovely sorted out all my stressed,spotty and menstrual skin and didnt dry it out..natural gels and cremes,not cheap but better than having crappy skin any day,looking at trying the shampoo and conditioner next. |

So I've taken to washing my entire body with feminine wash, even the cheap ones are soap free and contain some kind of moisturiser apparently. It's really saved me a few times "
I use that for my lady bits and all over my body if i've ran out of what i normally use. |

"Off the back of the "Showering daily" thread, who else suffers with sensitive skin, eczema or the such like?
My skin is highly sensitive, I'm allergic to everything and get bouts of eczema is certain places. I should have shares in moisturiser and steroid cream companies the amount I go through.
If I shower daily I end up ripping myself to shreds not matter how much cream I use (I'm not dirty btw)
What do you use SB? "
Sanex and Aveeno and I have Dermol that I use in conjunction or on its own if my skin is flaring up. |
