I know we aren’t supposed to kink shame but that is just so wrong.
Strawberry jam and clotted cream is the correct way to eat a scone. Unless it’s a cheese scone which should be given to the pigs. |

I love eating cheap sultana scones straight from the packet, I don't know what it is about those ones but they're awesome on their own.
Nicer or homemade ones with butter or jam (never together) and clotted cream if I'm spoiling myself.
I wish there was a drooling emoji on here. I have a real scone problem |

"
Surprised you've not been run out of Cornwall having cream on top! Hahahahahahahaha that's just wrong! |

I usually do the same thing. My favourite ones are cheese scones from M&S...flipping delicious. But we received some homemade lemon curd from my partner's family at Christmas so we're going through that with some clotted cream right now. Yummy |

I'm gonna have to make some scones after reading all that which is a bugger as you can't get sultanas where I am in the States (believe me I have tried!!!!) -only raisins which isn't quite the same....
Can't get clotted cream either unless long life in a jar from wholefoods |

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
Plain scone.... or fruit scone.... cream first then jam.
Cheese scone.... warm with either chilli and sun dried tomato relish or caramelized onions, topped with a creamy Devon blue cheese.
And in the summer I made ginger scones.... perfect with a touch of lemon curd |

Clotted cream is easy enough to make but unless you are in a fairly sunny part of the states you may struggle to make your own sultanas. |

Most intrigued how you make clotted cream!!
I will also point out that nowhere near me sells fresh cream either. Only UHT - It just doesn't exist in Missouri!!! Which is also cold til about mid March! |

I am from the beautiful county of Devon the home of the cream teas. There is only way you should have your scones and that is , lots and lots of Devonshire clotted cream first and then a small spoon strawberry jam on top. X |

My sad face gives it all away, when I've been given a cheese scone. It's an unfathomable concoction and surely wrong on so many levels, when you should be given sweetness and preferably some cream too |

As your neighbour in Cornwall. I see your cream on the bottom and laugh. We all know it’s jam first then cream because cornwall aren’t ashamed of their cream to hide it .. hehe.

As a fellow Cornishman....no Cornishwoman.....no, what the fuck am I?
Anyway I digress, we all know the proper way is a small dollop of jam with bits first and then lashings of glorious Rodda's clotted cream.
I also know the horrible truth of who did it first when it comes to the proper Cornish way and those pesky Devonshire neighbors and now I'm claiming the 5th amendment

We in Devon make by far the best clotted cream and not the mass-produced Cornish stuff. Cream first xx |

I found out after this thread that to make clotted cream is apparently ILLEGAL in the USA as you cannot have raw milk or cream!? Explains why the only 'fresh' cream I can find is UHT and why the 'clotted cream' I found was same and came in a jar with July date on it!! Oh and it tastes a bit shit too
Soon as I'm back in the UK, there'll be clotted cream on my shopping list |
