Leather belt cut into 3/4 mm strips (use a craft knife with a steel rule on a cutting board.
Cut the leather strips to the desired length 18" - 24" works quite well and glue to the outside circumference of something like a honey spoon with a glue that will bond wood and leather.
Use an additional strip to create a hanging loop.
Hang upside down to dry (add a rubber band to encourage the leather strips to fall cleanly rather than in some haphazard manner)
Allow to dry for at least 24 hours. |

Most of my kit bag is homemade now. I've found I enjoy certain types of tools during impact play, so studded belts have been threaded with strips of metal sewn into its length increasing the intensity of impact. I have a wide suede belt with metal flower decor that's been stitched together and makes an amazing paddle! My husband also makes fabulous floggers from iron cord, rope and paracord |
