Just want to start out by saying I admire all of you (ladies and gents) for having the confidence to post pictures of yourselves publicaly.

I know every generation say this but we live in vain and judgemental times. A few years back when I was in the military I was proud of my body but now I am older and took a serious knock back by my ex, not so anymore. Even though I am back in the gym and losing weight and gaining muscle I look at myself and think " why would anyone else want to look at this never mind admire it?".

I think where I am going with this is this. I am in awe of the confidence people have on this forum. Some people may think it is smut, porn, kinky but I like to think of it as a group of people so confident and comfortable with thier bodies and sexulaities they are not affraid of displaying it.

To you, bravo.

I am not sure this is a good place to be if you lack confidence with your body. What made you join may I ask ?

OP you too can post a pic or more, I don’t have body confidence but I do know that all bodies are appreciated by someone so why hide from that person(s)

I was here initially a while ago as part of a couple. Now I am single and putting things together again I miss the social element of this forum. People here seem to be a little more open than let say a motorcycle forum I am on.

Lots us have issues with our bodies, hence why it's extremely rare that I post a naked photo of me.

I had zero body positivity until I hit 50. Even then it took a couple of years before I was comfortable being looked at. Easier said than done op but we are our own biggest critics so just go for it.

I remember a time I felt like this. The thing that worked for me was actually going to a naturist beach on Fuerteventura, 25 years ago. It changed my whole outlook. Seeing people of all shapes and sizes, without a care in the world, wandering round, frolicking in the sea and playing games on the beach, completely nude, had a big impact. After overcoming my initial anxiety and fear, day by day I gre more confident until by the end of the holiday I was happily walking about naked.

Another thing that really helped me was sitting in front of the mirror for 10 minutes each day, completely nude, and repeating the mantra, “I’m a worthwhile person and I like myself. It was really hard at first and I cried, however after only a couple of weeks of this I started smiling and eventually ended up laughing.

It is a very powerful exercise in radical self acceptance.

First off, I'm sorry to hear how you're feeling. Its harsh when someone's opinion and words have that kind of impact, I know. Thing is though that's all it is, their opinion. Doesn't make it true or even important. I'd doubt there's anyone on here who isn't hung up about something. We are so self critical and it's difficult to hush that inner diolouge as there's no getting away from it. I've gained a good bit of weight and an ex was pretty unkind which got me down. My bum is massive compared to how I was but know what, I put a photo of it up and all I get is positivity, don't let someone else's opinion or hurtful words dictate how you feel about yourself cause its only your opinion that's important. Get some pics up, some will like some won't but so what, be all you can be, no one can expect more from anyone.

Best wishes to you

I absolutely hate talking in cheesy cliches but I do there's a couple of valid ones here...

Fake it til you make it

and

Don't compare your behind the scenes to someone's else highlight reel.

I was in awe of everyone when I first came on here too and thought I could never be that confident, but once you get talking a bit more you realise it's mainly just a load of ordinary people with their own hangups who've decided not to let it stop them doing what they want. Just go for it and don't think for a minute that everyone, or even the majority, are looking for the body beautiful!

My confidence, and not just in my body, is a tissue paper thin veneer covering internal chaos and anxiety. But I hide it well and work to overcome it constantly.

My body confidence is actually spectacularly low. In recent years I've got close to achieving weight loss and fitness improvement targets which will most likely remain as a life-long condition. But with weight loss comes saggy skin in some areas where its especially unattractive. I do not like looking at myself to the extent that I cannot understand why anyone else would either, and wonder if my recent beard is unconsciously a mask to hide behind.

Yet, when looking for people to meet, my key triggers revolve around personality, attitude, outlook etc ahead of their physical manifestation. My dearest fab friend excels in those areas, and also happens to be physically my ideal vision of physical perfectness. And I think wtf does she see in me?

Lockdown and now a period of isolation isn't helping me with mental health.

Don't mock the beard. I love my beard as it is all I have hair wise in that general vinicity. It's opened up a whole new world of male grooming products that I love.

I have never been happy with my body. Always been overweight. Obviously having had 4 children has taken its toll on me. My body has been through a lot and is still fighting inside so I appreciate it alot more now than I ever did.

I don't show my body for others. I do it for me. But I guess I hope people feel encouraged by me showing my all.

Interestingly, I was an adult / porn / glamour photographer in my relatively recent past. While I've had the joy and privilege to photograph some absolutely stunning ladies of different shapes, ages and sizes, they all had one thing in common. Irrespective of how attractive they were, each one had a hang up about one part or aspect of their body. You'd think id learn from it but actually its all quite toxic behind the lip gloss and hairspray.

A real close friend of mine said I should go for a photoshoot as she thoroughly enjoyed a glamour shoot she did for her self. I don't know if I should? Maybe I should start another thread on male photoshoots and get the opinions of of other blokes who have had one.

I dont think anyone is ever 100% truely happy with their bodies. I prefer to cover alot of mine(after 4 c setions, 1 which is down my stomach) my tummy is always covered but i do still like to show my butt and my boobs. Lol.

As much as alot of us dont like something on us there is someone out there wishing they had just that.

A photo shoot sounds expensive and it's not really the everyday you. Just have a play with taking pictures and different cloths and angles, If you use a laptop or computer use the editing facilities in the different software like cropping. Crop down to one part of the picture to make it look better or interesting.

What tooke me a long while to appreciate is that whatever body you have and whatever hangup you have about it, there will be someone (or more likely a section of people) who absolutely utterly madly love it.

Whatever is "wrong", there will be people thinking that it looks amazing.

somewhere, someplace

Play with different lighting and angles, different clothing and such.

I had the worst body confidence after my ex as he made me feel like I was ugly and unattractive after drumming it in to me day after day.

Now I take pictures for me, not to impress anyone, more for me to look at and see actually he was wrong, I may not have the perfect figure or face but I'm good with that and as long as I'm happy that's the main thing.
