I had mine pierced for over 4 years.
Its rather sexy to use it to flirt with when chatting to someone.
I lost the end balls on numerous occasions and kept a pouch of replacements in my purse.
I have damaged 3 teeth from biting the ball or bar whilst eating food, my dentist always told me off 
If you remove the tongue bar the piercings will seal very quickly. I lost mine whilst competing in a marathon hike, I didn't have spares on me at the time and so had to remove the bar. By the time I finished the event and got to my replacements the piercing had closed and I didn't want to force it myself.
I do miss my piercing though, it was cute and sexy. I won't have it repierced.
Apparently it also felt nice when giving oral, and people liked feeling it when kissing me.
It also made cool tracks when licking an icecream cone

I've got mine pierced but have to say I'm more of a tip of the tongue type so it doesn't really do a lot and nor have I had feedback on it to say that it could be felt either.
Its probably much better for sucking cock with but I never have done since it was pierced a couple of years ago now. |

Apparently it enhances oral a lot. I’ve never been on the receiving end of a pierced tongue, but I’ve certainly had no complaints when I give it x certainly fun when she’s got a pierced clit, enhances it for her x

Every lady I've ever encountered has had the clit hood done this is a simple nigh on painless procedure with i understand no risk to clit sensitivity and very little risk of complications

There’s only one who will do genital piercings that I know of where I live. A very competent, female piercer, but it still puts me off. Had mine for 30 years, never caught it once on my teeth, make sure the bar is the right length, it needs to be downsized after 3 months.
