Maybe this has been discussed before, I did try to search for it in old threads. Here goes, sorry if this doesn't come out very tactful: why is it ‘ok’ or on the top of the fantasy list to see 2 women having sex but not 2 men? Yes preference and people are straight i get that but is the ignorance necessary?
Comments like ‘yeah i’d love to have 2 women all over each other and then all over me’ but on the suggestion that there be 2 men, ‘comments about not being gay’ spring up. surely in a world of fluid sexuality and being educated open minded adults folk would/should judge less?
Im simply asking why the double standard exists... |

My profile clearly states bi guys only. When a straight guy messages and I point out he clearly hasnt read it and seen what I'm looking for, the amount of times I get messages back asking why bi guys, what is it about them, it's not fair that I'm excluding alot of men ( like themselves usally) and tend to be very self righteous and rude. I think it *does* come down to preference to an extent as well as sexuality - if you're genuinely straight why would you want to see sex between two people of the same gender as you?
To use a football analogy it would be like supporting Spurs but being expected to want to watch Arsenal.
Where it *is* lacking though is acceptance that others may like indulging in same sex sex - the greatest example of that being clubs where FF play is widely accepted no matter what night, but MM play is frowned upon in most clubs except on a specified Bi Night - perhaps if more clubs started making it clear that ANY play was accepted on ANY night that would be a step in the right direction - the trouble being many would risk losing custom because of those that prefer not to see it (whether out of preference or bigotry).
Personally an MFF holds little interest for me, although I do enjoy watching FF play, just would feel it was more of a "show" in an MFF environment. Given the choice I'd choose bi MMF (or multiples thereof!!) every time |

To answer the latter question - those "wanking wildly" over two women are usually men - so they're watching two members of the opposite sex play and it's ok (in their minds) for it to be a turn on - especially given that (to take Lacey's point) a large proportion of FF porn is actually catering to a male audience and so plays to that angle.
Whereas two men playing to a straight man goes against his straightness - a little like the football analogy I used further up - the issue is when that plays out as decrying the notion of two men together in the way you describe - to be fair, that reaction is in the minority on here but it stands out more because it usually is expressed in not so nice terms - the vast majority that don't like MM play tend to be of the "not for me" variety which is fine.

Possibly just very old habit? Older people lived through a more restricted sexual time, during which women were always sexualised more than men. The current generation have a more varied awareness and acceptance of less vanilla sex.

Its actually an interesting subject, and as I understand it, rooted in our long past and views on gender roles.
Historically, women were the weaker, fairer sex, while men were stronger, and competitive. As the weaker sex, it was acceptable for women to be with women. They were already slightly lower in the pecking order. Men however, were competitive, strong creatures, and to have sex with anything other than a women was a sign of weakness.
Thankfully, things are changing and these views are receding into the past where they belong. Why do we need to label everything and everyone? Happiness in this life is hard to find, so lets just celebrate happiness when and where it's found. |

It's funny at clubs on a straight night when there's are 2 couples who are playing together, and the guys are sitting chasing whilst the women play together, with people watching them, but the guys aren't allowed to play together. We only go on bi nights now, but even then you can see people twisting their faces up seeing a guy balls deep in another guy.

The first time I seen 2 females play live I got very aroused.
At a party some years ago I watched a male sucking another guy off. It didn't disgust me but it didn't arouse me either.

I'm not sure it *is* a double standard actually as you are effectively comparing two different things on a physical rather than theoretical/logical level.
However whether homophobic sentiment or even expressing something in derogatory terms ("the thought of it makes me sick" is one I see often) is in any way acceptable is another matter entirely and the answer is of course no it isn't.
As I often say on bisexual male related threads - I have absolutely no issue with someone preferring not to meet me because of my sexuality, any more than I would if they chose not to meet me because I'm 55, overweight, grey haired, have a beard or any of the other myriad reasons they might not want to - however if they express that in a derogatory or bigoted way *then* I have a problem, not with them not wanting to meet me, but their attitude. |

I'm not sure there is a double standard in the way you're describing, at least not on the whole (of course some people express their preference in unacceptable and derogatory ways and that's not okay.
But it makes sense to me that F/F would be more popular, it just appeals to a wider variety of people. Heterosexual men aren't going to want to want M/M since they aren't attracted to men. M/M appeals mostly to gay or bi men from what I can tell (with a comparatively smaller amount of women and straight men). |
