Don’t forget to loop a piece of string through your sleeves to join the mittens together

Okehampton

Lay down in a silk lined, 6ft wooden box on a pedestal in the lounge, silk keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter, being off the ground prevents loss of heat through the floor and puts you in the path of any warm air circulating. Have friends round (Covid allowing) for drinks and canapés

Just over there

I've taken 2 blankets off the sofa and gone back to bed. I'm hiding from all responsibilities in my magical bed castle

A very sensible and admirable course of action ... I need to build a magical bed castle myself, load up with snakes and refreshments and wait for Hippy to breach my defences!

Good tips, we wildamped NYE once on top of Cadair Idris in the snow at minus 16 in a silk liner ,inside a regular 4 season sleeping bag on top of a down mat with a mix of down and air and it definitely works, was toasty warm, the floor is the fastest way to lose heat.

So quick to judge, you can have your friends say nice things about you as you lay there and can use the additional space (alluded too in your response) for drinks and snack storage

It's traditional to put your pjs on and go to maccies for a warm in your Ugg boots. Appreciate current restrictions may make that difficult*. Assume you have your hair up in rollers? Drop it to keep your neck warm.

Failing that, it's time for a vest.

* restrictions on movement not footwear.
