Leave your Christmas lights up

Canford Cliffs

Traditionally Christmas decorations come down on 12th Night/Epiphany (6th Jan)

There is a lesser known tradition that they stay up until Candlemas (2nd Feb)

Anyone with outdoor Christmas lights keep them there until 2nd February to lighten up the gloom of lockdown January.

I was gonna do this anyways but I’m glad others are feeling it too.

Just as it makes me smile when I leave the house in the dark mornings and when I get home at night.

I think we might leave the outside Christmas tree lights till the battery runs out. Indoor decs coming down on Weds...

Ours are down already but it's a lovely idea.

I like the gentle lighting they give.

Fabulous, I didnt like the idea of taking them down so this gives me a good excuse to leave the outdoor ones up.

I'm not going to put them back up again! It's freezing!

Oh what a good alternative. I do like a good reason to justify breaking tradition

Mine came down on new years day.

I hope my neighbours all take theirs down, they're a god damn eye sore

It’d be great if people would leave their lights up. My neighbour took theirs down yesterday and I do miss them. Such a cheerful little glow in the dark.
