Anyone have any good areas for walks around the mansfield area needing to get out the house for some nice walks

Is it built up area or fields? I just walk round the metropolis that I live in. It's still outside and as long as I can see sky it's good exercise.

You can park at linby and walk the trail to newstead abbey , it’s about 3 miles each way we did it earlier, it’s not the most interesting walk but the abbey, lakes , waterfalls are nice when you get there

going back in time I went for a nice meal there with a friend at newstead abbey at night could hear the waterfall outside , historically lord byron lived there.

Download an app called All Trails it will bring up any walks in your area or postcode that you enter .. I love it I’ve found a few new walks near me x

I love a good OS map, the paper version is good to handle and you get a digital download for when you actually need a map but didn’t bring one because you weren’t planning on getting lost.

Are you any good at folding them back up again? I can see Mr getting all tense if I fold them wrong but he never says anything, Just waits till I’m not looking and refolds them

It just takes a little gentle persuasion to achieve the spread you want...

I only use the digital downloads if I have to, as you just can't see far enough ahead on a phone. a tablet would be better but I like a proper paper map. I'm such a map nerd I will print off and laminate set routes. I've made an A4 flip map for the whole NC500 for September, hopefully..

That’s really good, I’ve done three peaks, y3p , coast to coast and wild camps with people met off forums! We also setup a wild camp group for swingers on Facebook but nothing much happened !!!!
