"After a recent-ish trip to Leeds I’m quite taken with it but overall I do love the Manchester."
Big fan of Manchester city centre
Lovely people, except a couple, nice place with some great hidden gems, also lots of hot women dressed sexy most of the time walking around |

Love Bath, love York but for me you have to go a long way to beat London for it's diversity not only of people and cultures but activities, sights, restaurants, and more besides - there's something new and undiscovered waiting round every corner.
And contrary to common belief it doesn't *have* to cost an arm and a leg to visit either |

As a truck driver I’ve been all over the place "
Actually forgot Chester in my list above - wonderful city and in fact St Albans is another...London still my favourite though |

Everyone forgets Chester as were one of the smallest cities in the UK. But yes I visit London at least once a year with the family for weekend breaks |

St Albans, Ely, Cambridge, Aberdeen, Bath and Winchester. How do people narrow it down? Even now I'm thinking of other cities I love (Lichfield). Out of all of them I'd say possibly Aberdeen but the rest are very close seconds. Old Aberdeen is particularly beautiful. |

I should say Southampton because that's where I live, but it's a dump really. I loved York actually, sooo pretty. And Brighton is cool. And Edinburgh if we're straying out of England! |

Being a Yank and living near York I always tell people, "you need to visit York....." However, I think London is my favorite as well. For everything mentioned above to include sporting, musical events, west end and a few sexy partys as well.. London is like a sore dick.... you just cannot beat it.. |

Obviously my home town, so much to do and be discovered, I’ve lived here 35+ years and still finding new things & places to explore.
Then it’s places like Edinburgh, York, Bath, Chester.... places full of history, step back in time and let your imagination flow. |

"I thought St David's is the smallest city in the UK?
It is now but it is a relatively new city having got its status in the 1990s. Wells & Ely until then were the smallest cities "
Actually, St Davids was given city status in the 12th century but withdrawn in 1886. It was restored in 1994 at the request of Queen Elizabeth II. (Partly nicked from an online encyclopaedia) |

I like plymouth, it's got history an old town, waterside pubs and restaurants and the ferry over to Cawsands for a beach day.
And it's well located for getting to other places for surfing, crabbing beautiful beaches etc

Whilst not a UK city but it is but a short hop across the Irish Sea by plane - have to sneak a vote in for Dublin - vibrant, full of culture and nightlife and small enough that it's relatively easy to get round |

So many great cities and all liked for different reasons. York for its history, London for its diversity, Bath, Glasgow Edinburgh Nottingham Newcastle to name some of the ones. every city can evoke different memories and feelings cant really say have a single favourite that jumps out for example Leicester for the Hindu festival of lights dawali is amazing.. |

Edinburgh for sure. So much to do and see, great place for entertainment, but also just to chill. Princes' Street Gardens in the late-day sun is just lovely. There's even loads of stuff you can do for free if you're skint. So many great people too. I'd be living there if we could afford to move. |

West Sussex and Wales |
I really like the peace and quiet around St David’s (when the tourists are back in their own homes). I love Pembrokeshire generally and am house hunting around there, as and when restrictions allow |

"I thought St David's is the smallest city in the UK?
I thought Ripon was the smallest city?"
3rd smallest in England, smallest in Yorkshire - although I guess it may come down to how you define the size.
Technically the smallest "city" in the UK is London or to be more precise the City Of London which is traditionally the square mile of the financial/business district but given it's encompassed in a much larger city doesn't really count as a standalone city. |

It isn't a city, but my favourite market town is Beverley
I'd love to retire to that area
York has had many mentions and quite rightly so
Not only is it stunning, it has great road and rail connections, access to the moors, the wolds, the east coast and more lovely market towns you could shake a stick at, but it also has a bustly vibe thanks to the students, the tourists and, dare I say it, the stags, the hens and the locally based soldiers having a night out
Oh and a small designer outlet on the outskirts |

"I don't really like cities, they're far too peopley
Can my favourite city be the Peak District? "
Plus in cities there is no " popping to the shop" and the local corner one seems to be a mile away. And everybody walks so fast! |

East London |
I haven't been to many, I have to admit, so I'm going with London.
It's so big you can get lost in it.
Loads of stuff to see and do.
Loads of places to eat and drink.
River buses along the Thames.
Old mixed with new.
Too many people though.

Manchester! (although my fab name probably gave that away...)
I'm really lucky to live 15 minutes from the city centre and 15 minutes from amazing countryside... I love it here |

"Chichester, anybody near?"
Is Chichester a city or town?
Anyway can't stand the place, much like Winchester it's pretentious and full of itself and silly women who dress like they are skiing in Italy. |

Not sure I have a favourite city. Most cities are interesting vibrant places to visit.
I love Lincoln and York for different reasons to Liverpool or Newcastle.
I'm not a fan of London.
The only city I think I could live in is Sheffield. It feels like a bigger version of my home town and is right on the doorstep of fabulous countryside. |

We are from just outside Edinburgh. Great city but Glasgow is much better for a night out. Friendlier people. |

I love Bath and am originally a West Country boy. But I lived in Liverpool for a few years and just loved it. Always felt safe there, even walking through Albert Dock at 3am pissed after seeing Paul McCartney! Great city, lovely people. |
