Fit folk, I need your help!

Before moving to Bristol earlier this year I was a 3 gym visits a week sorta guy. What with lockdown, a new city and a new commute, that’s fallen away and I wanna get back on form.

I cycle to work so I’m good for cardio, but want to give my bod definition again and don’t want to shell out for tonnes of kit.

What’s the best way? Are body weight exercise and calisthenics enough? Your thoughts v much appreciated.

I’m not a gym type and have never heard of callisthenics.

I eat a healthy balanced diet and spend 15 minutes every morning tensing my muscles completely naked in front of a full length mirror whilst making grunting sounds.

I get many, many compliments on my well defined body and this is my secret.

Ultimately you would need to hit the weights if you want to build more muscle. That being said you can do a HUGE amount with your bodyweight and maybe a pull up bar. Start off with basics like pull ups, push ups, squats, lunges etc.

YouTube and Instagram are your friends here. Loads and loads of good content out there.

Also don't discount doing some more high intensity cardio. Stuff like hill sprints, burpees etc.

Good luck

Well you are biking to work which is great cardio what is your diet like? Pull up bar and some resistance bands are quite cheap and you can do loads with those

Morning

I used to be a total couch potato for years.

Now signed up for an ironman in Switzerland.

It's more about consistency, train your heart and lungs your body will follow.

Running, biking, swimming and strength, believe it or not yoga. Helps with shape and stretching as well as aches and pains

Don't wait until Jan 1st, start today.

Depends. If you just want to tone up and get shape body weight will work but you get quicker and better results with the gym
