Anyone else miss Adulting?

Not the responsible side of adulting like bills and work and parenting (pets/people/plants) but the fun side of adulting like road trips and hotel stays and sight seeing and posh restaurant dinners and cocktail hours. Sad times ay?

Always love the fun side of adulting.

I just changed it to so adventures off grid and camping. Long walks in the local hills.

I don't really do much of that anyway, I'd probably go out twice or 3 times a year depending on funds for the last couple of years.

Other than that if I had a weekend off I'd come to my friends Friday- Sunday.

I spent last lockdown with them and again for this one so I've been extremely lucky

Even the ability to go and do adulting would be good even if we never did it that much to begin with.

When it returns (and it will) it will be so much more appreciated

I'm really missing my bandmates and playing gigs in grotty pubs. We like to go to a nice restaurant for a meal after a rehearsal session, too.

Yes a bit in all honesty. I loved staying in nice hotels with work, it was one of the perks of my job. And city breaks! Waking up and going to a cute little bakery and then strolling through the cobblestone streets and enjoying all the sights and popping into a bookshop and then going back and having a good fuck. I liked seeing friends for coffee, going to farmer's markets and buying overpriced items and cooking them for brunch. Catching up with a beaut of a friend for many gin cocktails. Even the socials.

Oh well, hopefully some time soon it will start back up again and when it does I'm going to make sure I enjoy them to their max.

We never did get the chance to Adult much, even before Covid-19 but everything we had planned was cancelled. We had started going to the big Socials so we have really missed these.

Fingers crossed 2021 is a safer year for us all and we can get back to having fun.

I didn't realise I was supposed to have stopped, except for Covid of course, if that's what you mean?

To be honest I've not done much of that, the last couple of years due to rebuilding after losing my job.

But 2020 has allowed me to sort myself out really while locked up, and get myself back on my feet, so assuming I survive pandemic I'll be hoping to do a lot more fun adulting in the near future.

My ‘adulting’ social life ground to a halt ... I’ve missed so many of the social occasions I would normally have attended, especially over Christmas

But.... at least I’m safe and well

We'd just started adulting again after enforced child related and acquired disability related issues got in the way. Got my chair and some occasional childcare just as my Dad got ill (Jan into Feb 2020) and then...... Well, we all know what came soon after.

We miss the general ability to go on adventures, be they truly adult-only ones, or family ones.

Big messy nights out in the pub, d*unken snogging, giggling on the night bus home, late-night kebabs

Yup. Miss it all. Though some damn fine memories and bubbles are keeping things sane. Fab helps too. If you’ve a good imagination then you can do most things.

Never been on a whim ..... been on a bus, a tram, a train, a car, a bike hehehe

I know what you mean, the freedom, choices and being able to do what you want

I know what you mean, playing in pubs and getting home a 1am. Having to fit rehearsal's if anyone is on a funny shift at work..

Miss that so much.
