"I started posting more or less as soon as I joined, think I only lurked for a week or so before starting to join in the craic....guess I'm quite a regular poster now, specially the last 10 or 11 weeks while I've been on the sick, the forums have kept me (relatively) sane. " I don't think that at all I just started posting,id never posted on any forums at all before this one and I just joined in,never made any cracks about cliques or regulars not allowing newbies in,I just posted along with the threads and enjoyed it,I posted what I wanted and did'nt expect anything in return or attention from my posts,I asked questions as I was new and I have to say all I can remember from being new was the people that helped,not everyone did but then ive forgotten who they are now and they're probably long gone now as forums are very fluid with people coming and going all the time I see new people posting on here all the time and doing a really good job of joining in and they look like they're enjoying the fun of it, then I see others that do nothing but make digs about how bad it is in here What are the expectaions of it in here that make one person just get on with it regardless and another make constant comments about it being cliquey? Is it just different personalities? | |||

How come there are some of us who constantly get reported and banned for trivial things, yet far worse things are posted with no consequence to the individual? Probably because we're not sad and vindictive enough to report others. I won't name as its against the rules but its not uncommon to witness certain members sticking up for others with the same colours so as to speak. I can also say hand on heart I have witnessed personally and been told by others involved with in these groups what goes on. Even seen them slag other forum users off at social events although they would swear on the bible they didn't. It happens, it happens in life full stop. You will all have seen a new poster put up a thread and be attacked by one of the groups, profile critiqued or lambasted for being married or some other hated trait by the group with the knifes out. Face it folk's it has happened for century's in life and happens on line. Some like a a feeding frenzy, others like to pick on the perceived weaker. I have several friends on here who have commented on how they daren't even post on the forums as they've either been ripped to shreds themselves or they've been totally shocked at the way one of the packs has attacked others. I have a fair few friends and this is a recurring theme from them, without any prompting from me may I add!
The trouble is that you've got a load of arselickers who will do anything to stay in said packs and in my eyes are even worse than the ones spitting the venom | |||

I won't name as its against the rules but its not uncommon to witness certain members sticking up for others with the same colours so as to speak. I can also say hand on heart I have witnessed personally and been told by others involved with in these groups what goes on. Even seen them slag other forum users off at social events although they would swear on the bible they didn't. It happens, it happens in life full stop. You will all have seen a new poster put up a thread and be attacked by one of the groups, profile critiqued or lambasted for being married or some other hated trait by the group with the knifes out. Face it folk's it has happened for century's in life and happens on line. Some like a a feeding frenzy, others like to pick on the perceived weaker. There may not be one single circle but believe me I know for a fact they exist. Spot on mate.
I have several friends on here who have commented on how they daren't even post on the forums as they've either been ripped to shreds themselves or they've been totally shocked at the way one of the packs has attacked others. I have a fair few friends and this is a recurring theme from them, without any prompting from me may I add!

As far as I am aware being in a group doesn't break the rules either so reporting doesn't come into the equation. However actions by individuals will and has resulted in time outs and permanent bans for some of the less present infringes. I can't help but think if they had given more respect to others at the time they would be still posting. Knowing what I mean by colours is pushing it though as you claim to be politically savy on many threads so I think we both know what I meant. I accept that to some I am probably party of the forum old guard, but to me I consider myself a newbie.
And yes, posting a thread can be a baptism of fire - comments don't always read the same to a third party the way they did in your head as you typed. As for the married but why do people hate me threads and the been here a week and noone will reply/shag me threads and the new one; the where are all the cougars threads! Well, any lurkers who've been watching for a few weeks can tell that they come around with regularity so do get acerbic comments.
But, in amongst the sarcasm there is often good advice and supportive criticism. On some of the recent threads that gave imploded there was genuine comment mixed in.
I've been ripped to bits by the forum - often when looking back rightly so! Sometimes if people are bored they will try to provoke a reaction, but we all know people who will do that in the rest of life, why should the forum be any different?
