What word have you never said out loud?

Birmingham

As I'm tediously boring, sometimes I like thinking of words I know yet have never actually said.

Now I'm going to say "supercilious" for the first time.... There. That was fun.

Hiw about you?

I've never actually said quim because it sounds a bit daft with my voice. I like typing it though.

Eh, it's just a word. Atop giving it so much power. "Brexit" is a far worse word but everyone has said that many times...

"The word beginning with f rhyming with maggot. No. Just no."

How does the context of Northern meatballs fit into that? As a child I knew it as those Brains things for years before than any other use.

I grew up in Australia and didn't have that context, only knew it as a slur. I can indicate it by other means.

(On the other hand - not that I have reason to use the word - a popular brand of cheese in Australia is a racist slur here! Who knew)

I can think of a couple of words I have said, but shouldn't.

I do.

Not really part of your thread, but I love the word "effervescent". Don't know why but it's my favourite word effer!

I hate this one too. Makes me cringe but there have been the odd people who are in fact this...

Mine is fart. Used to get thumped in our house for saying it. Now it makes me cringe to hear it (as I absentmindedly look around for my muks backhander) and I never say it.
