Though, I'm not entirely sure I'd trust them to do it justice  "
Apparently, there is another one in the works. And they still want to use puppets. I'd hope they can make it work. |

Just looked into this. There is a script and Chris Columbus has said they will use puppets, but he doesn't know when anything can be done as it's all tied up with rights issues. So may not be for some time.
However, in 2020 we are getting Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, an animated prequel TV series. |
