Yeah exactly, they're not cheap at all. I have the originals and love how smooth they are, also great for curling hair

I have used my sisters and they are very very good but very expensive. Hopefully I find a set in the middle aisle of Lidl before my 16 year old GHD’s die.

They had Remingtons in the middle of Lidls when I looked. Babyliss I always found to be good value

Take smaller sections continually turning the Ghd as you go down the hair length. Also spray as you go. Don't run your hands through your hair untill it has cooled as it is still setting while warm.

I swear by my Steam Pod.

I was never into GHD's etc but got a steam pod yonks ago. Its still going strong & 5min job does the trick. Old one is a bit bulky with the water resevoir. The new version has it built into the straightener part but it is expensive. Couldnt justify buying it as my one still works.

Got a interchangable curling wand last week. Havent used it yet...need to experiment 1st.

I've always used Remingtons, but I do have thick hair.

Find they don't damage as much and curl as good as they straighten!

First pair lasted 9 years, 2nd pair about 3/4 years old now

"got a Dyson Corrale straightener?"

Due to being bald I’m firmly in the no camp but one bit of advice would be that if you buy a set only buy them from a reputable source as Dyson products are one of the most faked products out there.

They have them on QVC, you can use them for 60 days and send them back if you don't like them. They have a no quibble return policy, you would just lose the cost of postage.

I'll stick with my 20 odd quid remmingtons...they do the job.

I could never justify that price tag...its beyond ridiculous to me...

That being said, I haven't got 400 quid going spare

Oh, and you can split the cost into 5 interest free payments. You don't even have to pay upfront

What I do do is a variation on the curly girl method (I'm still using "bad" products at the moment, and I'll need to figure out how to turn curly girl into wavy girl). Whole other rabbit hole

Only heat I apply is washing (because I'm a wimp and cold showers suck) and I diffuse my hair on cool/ low heat.

I know myself too well and I know I wouldn't stick to any routine of method. I did dry if possible then use straighteners. Although last time I went to the hairdressers she rough dried it and I put it up. I didn't do anything else to it that day, plaited for bed as per and next morning it was wavy and gorgeous. I was v pleased. I'm sitting with wet hair now, might try and replicate this

When I've tried to straighten my hair I've been scared of burning it, it doesn't stay properly and I don't like the look on myself, so I'm trying to embrace my natural texture, basically. And all but eliminating heat has meant that my hair (which is longer than it's been in... six or seven years?) is incredibly healthy. It used to be a rat's nest of frizz when it was long, now it's soft and shiny.

I don't know about the Corrale but my friend paid the same for a Dyson Airwrap and was really underwhelmed by it, I'm not sure they live up to their hype/pricetag - you'd be able to get it blow dried regularly for a year for that.

Maybe even worth trying a Brazilian blow dry that lasts longer?

I'm so jealous of people with these problems, my hair is limp AF !

I don't want it straight all the time, I like to vary the style. I will probably stick to my GHDs, Remington Big Hair and hot brush
