Sports personality is on tonight at 8.00 pm on BBC1 Lewis Hamilton is the favourite but I think Ronnie O’Sullivan may win it as the BBC no longer show F1 but do show the 3 biggest snooker tournaments and I think he has more of a personality than the others.

I assumed Marcus Rashford would be a given for this, but read earlier that he's getting a special award instead.

No doubt what he has done on a personal level has been amazing but on a sporting level he hasn’t achieved as much as the nominees. The award is based on sporting achievement so for me it’s O’Sullivan, but saying that Phil Taylor only ever came second...

Yeah that's pretty much what the article said too, so they'd created an award to recognise his unique achievements.

The Tom and Tobias bit was lovely

Marcus Rashford is amazing

I hope Jordon Henderson wins the main bit.

In a year when a lot of sports has been disrupted some in the sports world have like Rashford shown immense personality beyond others who have acted like numpties..

He could have been in the six easy and a deserved winner..

Liverpool

Having watched Hendo at Anfield for nearly 10 years, I've never felt short-changed by him and it's taken real drive for him to make a success of the captaincy.

Taking my partisan hat off, I love a maverick as much as the next man and Ronnie O'Sullivan is a classic flawed icon and would be a worthy winner.

Hendo gets my vote for what he's done on and off the pitch...he's just a thoroughly decent guy.

Hamilton won it, must be hard driving the best car by a mile and having a average teammate

And johnathan rea not even nominated. Still lives in N.I and pays his taxes in to britain. 6 world titles in a row, never been done before, but hey ho, he only risks his life every week

Sports personality is the wrong description for an award that should be sporting achievement...

Some of the dullest individuals in the UK have won.....
