But let's just say I'm back and I can report that Pooch is still with is .
He will be permanently blind but everything else seems to be slowly coming back .

Glad to hear it. And I’ll not go into why I’ve not been around either 
But glad that pooch is ok. And you was right to give him a few days to see how he got on. |

Oh I'm sorry I missed your original thread, its too distressing for me to go find it, still miss my doggos almost 20 years later.
Sending best wishes for continued recovery
Have you got foam etc to wrap around sharp corners? |

"Kind of good news. We don’t deserve dogs.
Lost mine recently was no pain like it. Plus the vet “accidentally” keeping him for three weeks when he was meant to be cremated was the final straw.  "

Oh great news.
It will certainly be an adjustment for both of you, but he will adapt so much faster and better than you will to it. So long as his sense of hearing, and especially his sense of smell are active he will champion through it.
So don't stress over how he is doing and adapting to it. Focus on adapting yourself to the change for him. It's the best way to help him.
Dogs are so much more resilient and able to deal with things like this. |

Yaaaay, excellent news. Ive been looking for an update all week. I assume a few people were on the naughty step because of that tactless gobshite that invaded your original post. Well you're all back and 'IT' has gone, onwards and upwards sir. So glad your furry friend has pulled through. |

"What happened to Pooch ? Is he diabetic . I back now too after a long lay off. So much to catch up on. "
He had a fall and it caused brain swelling and permanent blindness, hes recovering ok ish , cheers |

and just remember that as long as he has a nose to follow he will be ok, dog’s noses do most of the work anyway
