And what would couples have to do? Reply AND be courteous?

I always have answered 98% of my messages to be honest but make excellent use of the filters and hide my profile when I'm not on here, not got the time and/or the inclination so never had a problem ... now I'm absolutely not interested lol so mainly hidden!

No I try to reply to most anyway, even if its a simple no thanks. I find that it significantly reduces the abuse I receive.

Sometimes ill even get a response that starts a chat off anyway. Nice to be nice

No I would either have my filters or just block anyone that i didn't want to reply to.

It's not the quantity of messages it's the quality of messages and I don't see why I should reply to "hi" or "how dirty are you?"

Yeah. If I could be guaranteed no abuse or attempted negotiation when I said no, I'd reply to a lot more messages.
