Scottish Lions in a Scottish Safari Park have eaten a monkey that escaped from its enclosure and strayed into the Lion pen.. some onlookers say they were traumatised but didn't stop many filming it.. |

I really can’t understand why people cannot see that it’s in the nature of lions to kill and eat things
There’s plenty of examples on YouTube, whereupon animals stray into a predators world.
Guess what!! |

I am not a big fan of these wild beasts on our doorsteps ready to escape and eat the local population.. many are born here now which make them Scottish Lions.. they would struggle to adapt or be accepted if they were sent to Africa.. I would round every one up from every UK Safari park and send them to Australia . The climate would suit them, the locals are not fazed by dangerous beasts and they have acres of spare land.. |

Is there a massive security problem? Will they be roaming the parks like escaped dogs? |

They did not care if it was a monkey.. they just ate the bloody thing..
It's on the new. I don't make this nonsense up..
The lions were born in Scotland.. Scottish..
Same as Scottish salmon..
Scientists have even noticed that Scottish lions are growing longer coats than their African ancestors..
It's called evolution.. |

Listen Tom. Tom of Essex. Tom of 'I don't make this shit up' .......
The national fucking animal of Scotland is the UNICORN....
Now tell me it's a horse that grew a twirly horn due to evolution ...... Go on Tom. Go on. |

"Byestanders said you could hear the crack of bones as the Scottish lions devoured that monkey..
If one of those evil buggers escapes it will be human bones next "
Are they more evil or less evil than sharks. Just asked as you seem to have quite an insight into the motivation of other species |

That is so true..
And some dog barks grate more than others on me. Northern Irish dog barks are particularly irritating.. |

And risky to cage them here.. close all zoos and send the buggers home.. sadly some are born here.. |

Evil buggars them lions. Will have your hand off in an instant.
And don't get me started on those tigers neither. Please do not believe their propaganda, they do not come for tea, or eat frosties. |

I remember some years back at Belfast zoo, some mindless morons threw two penguins into the lion enclosure.
Fortunately the lions didn't eat them, couldn't get the wrappers off |

Is it just me or is there a slight flaw in the logic that an animal would struggle to adapt or be accepted on a continent it has evolved to live on but would manage just fine on one it hasn't?
I'm definitely leaning towards troll of late.

Lean away but don't lean so far as to fall in the lion enclosure at Swansea Zoo |

"Why does anybody want to look at these animals.. beats me..
Animals so not belong in cages.. cruelty beyond belief..
"
I thought your point was that they weren't in cages.. I thought they were roaming the Scottish countryside eating monkeys Willie nillie as they fancied |

No.. the monkey escaped and strolled into the lion enclosure as bold as brass..
Like a brass monkey..
Not only eaten but spectators heard every monkey scream, heard the skin ripped off it's back and the sound of bones crunched by the lions teeth.. |

Surely a lion would have struggled with a brass monkey? Pretty tough |

There and to the left a bit |
Hate to scare you Tom but your very own zoo in Colchester had a similar incident a few years ago - the lion enclosure is directly opposite the area where they put on shows flying birds of prey for the public to see and marvel at - on this occasion one of the birds of prey decided to take a rest in the lion enclosure and became their lunch!! They now have streamers or a mesh above the enclosure to prevent a recurrence.
They also had several of the wolves escape a few years back and sadly they were all shot.
So it's happening on your doorstep!!
And a wonderful zoo it is too - does much for conservation and the animals are all very well looked after - I shed a tear when Rajang (the orangutan) passed away two years ago. |

I remember those wolves being shot by expert police marksmen. People were told to stay off the streets until the evil buggers were dispatched .. those officers once again were brave beyond compare putting themselves in the way of danger... |
