Why do people talk during movies....??

I went to the cinema at the Trafford Centre last night and at £8.85 it was a bit steep. Got in there early to get good seats, some half an hour later into the adverts, 2 adults and a kid arrived and sat next to us.
They talked non stop through the first 30 mins of the film. I had to say in a loud voice "I hope the people sat next to me aren't going to talk through the whole film". So then they whispered non stop. Their commentary was so annoying, that in the end I had to move seats.
In between the muppets that talked through the movie and the numptys that texted, causing a ruddy beacon of light, I wonder why they go to the cinema and frankly, I wondered why I was there too....
Rant over..... |

Mobile phones going off are a pain up the butt as well, even though you get reminded to switch them off you always get one don't you.
Agree about the talking as well, can't work out why people pay good money to watch a film and then talk all the way through it. |

You wouldn't have liked it many moons ago on a Saturday morning in the community centre ....for twopence you would have had hundreds of kids acting out the film that was playing...all running round smacking their arses pretending to be cowboys on horses !

I totally agree with you. I avoid Odeon like the plague now especially the Trafford Centre one. Vue in Bolton Middlebrook is much better. If someone whips their phone out there's usually a member of staff who spots it and tells them to put it away.
Although at busy times it's still bad there! |

Lol, if it isn't talking through the film, it's sweet wrapper rustling, or popcorn throwing, or constant persistant coughing, or someone laughing at not funny bits................... I think rather than go to the cinema, maybe we should all take up swinging or something ! lol |

I arrive in good time, take my seat in good time, eat my popcorn in good time, so that when the feature starts, I can concentrate and do not disturb my fellow cinema-goers.

What I find disagreeable these days is at the theatre they let people have drinks and food inside and people seem to think it is ok to arrive late.
Spoils the theatre experience for me. |

Same in a gang bang... The noise of condom wrappers rustling, people whispering and moaning, wet slippy mouth noises...
OP, I think it's just general disrespect. I hate the noisy ones at the cinema too. But it's everywhere. Kids running around in restaurants and their parents not telling them to sit down etc. Makes me sad. I may have been a little madam when I was younger but I still respected adults. |

NOthing worse than peeps who don't respect others whether in the cinema... I have told peeps to shut it at the cinema b4, I've paid to see and HEAR it not listen to them yabber on!
Another thing that irritates the hell outta me.. We get there in plenty time pic our seats always make sure that there is an even number of seat left(up to others after that) and wot happens a number of 3 late comers arrive and they ask us to move up... Answer NAW! Lol rant over... Soz! |
