They shouldn't be allowed to call them energy drinks, they are full of sugar and absolute rubbish and banned in this house along with coca cola and all the other sugary rubbish out there. |

There's nothing even remotely unhealthy about sugar. Unless you eat too much of it, but that's true of absolutely everything, up to and including lettuce.
I drink them occasionally at work when I don't feel like having a sit down break to have a coffee. They do what they say on the tin, but some taste a lot worse than others... |

Going back to the thread, we didn't need "so-called" Energy Drinks!
We had "energy", being able to play as kids and teenagers out in the street, in parks and in our neighbourhoods. We didn't have Play Stations, X-Boxes, Video and Computer games and 24/7 TV channels.
We weren't mollycoddled; we made our own entertainment, with what we had around us. A bygone age perhaps, but one which allowed us to learn to stand on our own two feet.
Energy Drinks? A retail "licence to print money!" |

The stamina shy teens of today eh?
They should be taught more healthy ways of eating/drinking and getting fitter at home and school.
We should lead by example instead of being stuck on here putting the world to rights |

I know. Just seems a shame that young people only need to be mentioned for all the 'in my day' tripe to start up. |

The threat of a cuffing from my mum used to "energise" myself and siblings to get out of her way, pronto!
even the dog would run and dive in her basket. |

Seems like a lot of boys today are complete whimps...they roll into work, gaunt looking can of that vile 'energy' piss in their hands, hood up and bang themselves down in the nearest chair to the radiator..
Hopeless... |

Lucozade or Irn Bru both came in glass bottles, served chilled perfect cure for a hangover. Glass lucozade went the way of the dodo though. Boys i work with wear do find energy to work, as for hood up well hoodies started out as sports wear |

My grans homemade jam and pancakes, mince and tatties, irn bru, sugar laden 1p sweets in a mix up bag, white bread with butter in a paper bag taken with you when you were out playing.
And for the negative comments on our youth of today, in our village their out playing from dawn till dusk and they use the xbox to talk to each other when its dark and pouring with rain and cannae get out to play. Healthy happy and with more energy than they can use throughout the day. |
