... a hedgehog, so annoyed after 4 weeks of saving pennies I went out and bought some beautiful plants for my courtyard garden, spent several hours planting them up into containers and they looked wonderful, 1 week on every one of them except 2 fuchsias have been reduced to stalks or munched away completely by snails despite me surrounding them with pellets

Put salt around the pots, that will stop them, i put it outside my door if i see one about

Agreed, they won't cross a line of salt. Sorry to hear about the plants, it's crap when you save up for something and it goes tits up x

Try you local pet shop.

They sell all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures these days!

My local one even had a couple of wasps in the window last week!

they are real crafty critters, slugs and snails..

i have to pots of hosta, both metal with copper strips around the rim. both set in a huge circle of gravel. and still they somehow manage to get to the tasty leaves and munch them down to stalks....

I am sure they must have had ninja training..
