Once again a misunderstanding of what it is that an animal does. A snake in relation to the size of man is tiny and the venomous kind use said venom to kill or paralize their prey and in some cases start internal digestion of the said prey. When a tiny animal which obviously feels threatened by the fact a gargantuan is in front of them, they do the only thing they can to defend themselves; they bite or spit venom or even posture before lunging to bite. It’s only when man happens to accidentally cross paths with a snake where bites may happen.

The problem with people is they think the world belongs to them, whereas we belong to the world.

The only venomous snake in the U.K. is the asp and the only people to die of a bite was due to a severe allergic reaction as it’s apparently much like a bee sting.

OK lets get this straight before anyone else asks.

As an animal lover I definitely do not support the breeding or selling of reptiles.

Unfortunately the fact is people are still able to sell & buy them. Now I'm not saying everyone who owns a reptile doesn't love or care properly for their pet but many buy for the novelty factor, they either get bored with it or they find out they're incapable of actually looking after or caring for them properly! Like with the terrapin issues sometime back.

This is where I use to step in. I've taken on many a rescue over the years & helped re-home numerous reptiles, someone has to & muggins here was the chosen one! I only have the one now & he's had health issues & is old so will stay with me.

Mr has worked with loads of different animals that are all capable of inflicting major injuries but the ones he dreaded having to deal with were Pygmy marmosets. The most severe animal related injuries he’s suffered have all been from cattle.

Ah the good old BBC - after doing a bit googling snakes are 3rd on the deadliest animals list with 50,000 fatalities per year, number 1 is the mosquito with a million deaths (mostly via malaria)

And at number 2 with 475,000 fatalities (murders) are humans - makes snakes relatively angelic in comparison to us!

At last reason, average deaths from shark attacks is 4, that's 4, per year world wide, repeat world wide as an ongoing average, you're more likely to die from putting your trousers on!

That figure is just homicides, start taking into account other deaths caused by humans then we are by far the deadliest. Road traffic accidents for example cause over 1.3 million deaths per annum.

We are the biggest threat to ourselves. Most of the worlds deadliest snakes live in Australia yet only an average of only 2 fatalities.

South of the Sahara 33 000 deaths and South Asia twice that amount.

Its in the high population density areas where people are most at risk, sprawling cities where their natural habitat is being invaded buy people.

If you go into there territory then your part of the food chain.

"How many people?? I didn’t realise cider & lager was still as popular as it was in the 80s

I still drink it, with a shot of blackcurrant in it

I used to frequent pubs that wouldn't serve that

I often get told it's illegal... It isn't, most will let me have half a lager and half a cider n black and a pint glass... Is bloody ridiculous... Hence only really drinking in one pub since being 16 lol... They have it pouring before I get to the bar lol "

It’s not illegal but because the chemical mix can makes you throw up or violent very quick and it was the drink of choice for kids and goths many pubs banned it. As an alternative we use to make blast-aways - diamond white + castaway

"Snakes kill tens of thousands of humans every year and name hundreds of thousands..

These evil buggers are a threat to mankind

We are the biggest threat to ourselves. Most of the worlds deadliest snakes live in Australia yet only an average of only 2 fatalities.

South of the Sahara 33 000 deaths and South Asia twice that amount.

Its in the high population density areas where people are most at risk, sprawling cities where their natural habitat is being invaded buy people.

If you go into there territory then your part of the food chain.

And they come into the cities..

Serpents are vile evil buggers

Really, are they?

Tom can you tell me have you ever lived in a country with deadly snakes, spiders and sharks..?"
