I have a book on how to improve your memory.

But I can't remember where I've put it.

In all seriousness, I'd give A Christmas Carol a try. I've seen more adaptations of that story than any other, and still greatly enjoyed it. And it's a *much* easier read than a lot of Victorian literature.

I went to a book shop and asked where the Self-Help section is. They said if they told me that it would defeat the object.

I just read The Ballad of Reading Gaol, and now I'm terrified they'll send me back.

A chicken went to a library and clucked at the librarian, going "Book!" So the librarian gave the chicken a book and off she went with a book under her wing.

A few days later the chicken came back and clucked "Book! Book!" so the librarian handed over two books, and off went the chicken again.

A few days later, the chicken visited the library again and clucked "Book! Book! Book!" So the librarian gave her three books and she went off again.

The librarian was fascinated and so decided to follow the chicken.

After a while, the chicken arrived at a large pond. At the edge, on a lilly pad, sat a frog. The chicken passed the books to the frog. One by one he looked at each book, throwing them over his shoulder, saying "Reddit! Reddit! Reddit!"
