Agreed.

For me, a woman that knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to communicate that is incredibly sexy.

Another vote here!

Being with a woman who is completely at ease with her body, and sure of what she want, with a determination to get it... yes, unbelievably sexy. Actually, it's the ultimate!

Personally, I'm not confident in a approaching, chat up kind of way. Actually, in those circumstances I'm total crap.

If I meet someone, even for a social, then I'm more confident, as the initial awkwardness has been discarded, and there is already some small degree of mutual interest, enabling me to relax a little.

If things progress to intimacy, then yes, I'm much more confident. At that stage you've reached the point of "I want you" and you can concentrated on the enjoyment of the moment.

I learned long ago that confidence is attractive. Often more so than my very average body. So I work the confidence and the confidence seems to have worked for me

Confidence is definitely sexy. Those who are confident about their appearance and desires oooze sex appeal much more than the shy retiring type.

Sexual confidence is only good if it translates into good practice

There's plenty that are confident about themselves and their abilities that are simply dreadful in the sack

I am more confident now at 57 than i have ever been. Meeting my man has changed that as he has boosted my confidence massively. He introduced me to bdsm and now i think my confidence has peaked big time.

Surely that's about compatibility rather than confidence though. Or maybe they are overconfident and feel they don't need to read their partner and adjust their technique according to their reactions

Is it sexual confidence or is it natural sexuality?

Some people who are not particularly confident and for that matter if you saw a photo wouldn’t particularly catch you attention but when you meet they just give off an aura

That is the most exciting thing, in fact even more so if they don’t know it

People often say that older women are sexually confident because "they know what they want and how to get it". In my experience this is a very rare thing and often said by men a lot younger than me who want to try out a lot of things to see if they like them, it wouldn't matter what I said I wanted they'd be happy to give it a go. That's fine but for me the confidence goes both ways. If say I want something and you don't, tell me. That's sexual confidence, the ability to say no to something you know you don't like whether you're a man or a woman.

Yes but different people have a different perspective on what confidence is. I think confidence sometimes gets confused with positive body image. I think confidence is having the minerals to say ‘show me what you like?’ Rather than letting ego get in the way and trying to guess- and getting it wrong.

There and to the left a bit

To a degree I agree on both counts - sexual confidence takes many shapes and forms both in knowing desires and wants and actual ability. The former is of course commendable and also quite easy to come by - the latter can come down to compatibility, and the ability (or even willingness) to read a partner, and when that translates as over-confidence it's of course not great, but it can just be lack of confidence too, and when that's the case a more understanding partner who accepts and guides is a plus.

I'm neither sexually confident nor good in the sack. It just took 56 years to realise celibacy was my path

For me it's finding that amazing other person who adores you and excites you, accepts you (flaws and all, all. The time) and believes in you completely

Its a heady combination that leads to dynamite

The line between confidence and arrogance is thiner than that between love and hate. Both can turn full circle to easily.

Sexual confidence to me is finding your voice, sexually. Communicating with your partner your own wants, needs and desires, while listen to and understanding theirs. Communication isn't always spoken. It can be a look, a touch, a sound... so many ways.

Confidence is also being comfortable in your own skin, with who you are and what you have.

But for me, overwhelmingly its having the presence, the attention, the pleasure in ensuring your partner is satisfied. Giving to receive.

Brilliant post, in particular the final paragraph. I do love sexual confidence, I wouldn't say it's more important than me being aesthetically attracted to them but it's on an equal level. I also like the idea Midnight has about the partner who adores and excites you - that instills greater sexual confidence in me and I think it creates a positive feedback loop of sexual confidence and desire.

Ensuring your partner is equally comfortable is part of the equation, and you won't get the right result to the equation without it.

That's not style, it's sloppy. Style is using said cum to fashion a nice quiff or buffont and attaching a bow to finish off!

Ive always been sexually confident. I have no idea where it came from but its always been there.

The best thing for me is bringing the confidence out in someone else getting them to trust and believe in themselves
