I am 6' 2" and 13 stone 9 pounds....
Apparently, 78% of men in the UK are fatter than me, but I am fatter than 54% of the worlds male population. I share a similar BMI to the average man in St Lucia...
Where do you come on the scale. its on the BBC website front page, Test Yourself on the Global Fat Index
Right, now where is my kebab???

This thread was more a bit of fun about using the BBC online tool.
It says if all men on the world had my Bmi that the world would weigh 9.5 million tonnes more! |

My son and I are roughly the same height - but he has longer legs than me (hence his torso is shorter). I currently have a BMI of 28.something - his is 19.
There should really be an adjustment (or different table) for body-type.
I use it as a guide - but that's all. |

It's not just girls. I once read that none of the English Rugby team would pass an army medical, due to excessive BMI.
Good luck to your daughter though |

I have a high bmi but that's because of my frame rather than any excess pounds - and before anyone calls bullshit I'd much rather be heavier given the choice. Just don't eat enough. Think it was about 29 last time I calculated it. Gf is about 24 I think. |

The Body Mass Index (BMI) is now becoming redundant, especially among personal fitness trainers, in favour of body fat measurements.
May have something to do with the fact that it emerged that, contrary to popular belief, the medical profession had nothing to do with its' development.
It was devised to help bed manufacturers make beds which could accommodate a wide range of body shapes, sizes and weights..... |

"Im well underweight when i measured and worked out. Do you think standing on a stool when measuring made a difference?
How heavy was the stool?"
Now £9.98 Was £12.98 at B&Q
Height (cm): 89.3
Width (cm): 45.2
Height (m): 0.89
Weight (kg): 4.3
Any Restrictions: Max safe working weight 150kg so no really big people allowed. |
