i knew someone would say that lol and i get it and if it was through the main part of bournemouth id get it but we r not but its causing all sort of complications that just seem to have been avoidable if they had kept the route simple |

Lol yes when the flame came to dumbarton they close the main a82 trunk road so no traffic heading north could travel north while they ran it. then all the held up trafic had to follow convoy north...
Better planning would have seen it go through the main street not disrupting the travelers on the main trunk road. |

so, all those that moan that the olympics are londoncentric are now moaning that a part of it is coming round by them.
personally i have no interest in watching some gump running with a big fire lighter.
i ave no interest in us hosting the games.
i anjoy the games for what they are, people at the peak of their physical ability competing to their best.....and Paula Radcliffe lol.
as a driver, everywhere i seemed to go the torch was coming htere, but i never got into any delays due to it.
so i say, live with it.
its for one day for christs sake.
infact, its not even 1 day, its a few hours
get some housework done. lol |

Actually while I have some sympathy with the OP, I've been listening to Radio 5 Live today while at work. This morning they covered quite a number of businesses close to the Satdium itself. One was a printer, who had had to relocate to enable the stadium to get built in the first place. he'd been told that where he was would be fine and his business would be able to continue no problems, In the last few days he's discovered that the only access road to his trading estate is closed 24/7 for the duration of the games "for security reasons" thus meaning that his business simply can't continue for upwards of a month or more.
Quite unbelievable actually |
