I used to love Des O'Connor's one where they started with the 'yes, no' game then had to choose to open the box or take the money.
I can't remember what it's called. |

"I also like 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown.
It's much better than the original
Oh yeah, absolutely love it, plus I've got a crush on Susie "
This show reveals her dirty side.
Did you see the one where Jimmy said at the intro stage:
"So Susie, what you been upto, apart from gloryholes?"
They all couldn't stop laughing. Literally tears rolling down their faces |

I think the main one that's stood the test of time is Wheel of Fortune.
Such a simple but effective format that's fun for the viewer to join in with also

Of the current crop Pointless and Richard Osman's House Of Games will always get my attention - The Chase sometimes too - although I must confess I'm not a fan of how these days winning the prize is weighted in favour of the programme rather than being guaranteed to the winner.
Of the old school quizzes how about these...
Bullseye (surprised it's not been mentioned already to be honest), Sale Of The Century, Celebrity Squares (there was another one Bob Monkhouse did that I used to like too).
Or how about Going For Gold where invariably people speaking English as a second language wiped the floor with the British contestants answering general knowledge questions with a British skew
And then there was the naked Keith Chegwin quiz if we're talking weird!!
And for highbrow back in the day we of course had University Challenge and Mastermind but who could forget Ask The Family with Robert Robinson!! |

I've always preferred the old skool gameshows.
The price is right, play your cards right etc.
Nowadays there does appear to be more focus on the show itself, rather than on a contestant winning something. |

Having had it suggested that the Bob Monkhouse show I was trying to think of was The Golden Shot - which was indeed a good one, but wasn't the one I was thinking of - was called Wipeout and was originally hosted by Paul Daniels before Bob took over
Looking for that has also reminded me that Bob was the original host of Family Fortunes too |

I vaguely remember Golden Shot - there's not many that do. I did love Sale of the Century on Sunday
Blankety Blank when Les Dawson presented it & i think Winner takes it all - Jimmy Tarbuck??? |

Bullseye.
This show was Sunday afternoon comedy gold especially when the contestants won a bloody speedboat.
Not so funny fact a serial killer was a contestant and had already murdered two people, when he appeared on the show.
He went on to murder two more victims and is now serving life. |

Wasn't it Matthew Kelly originally and featured celebs betting on whether a member of the public would complete a task in a set time? Sometimes it would be exciting, others it would be something really anoraky like "Recognise the model of a car from the headlight beam" |

There used to be a kids one ages ago... I think John craven hosted it... Screen test? They showed a clip then had to remember what happened...
Nick parsons did a few weird ones.
Generation game with anthea and Brucie...
Blankety blank with wogie
There was a really fucking obtuse one with 3 2 1 Ted Ray and dusty bin... Never understood that.
Not sure if it's been mentioned but the late one with Mortimer and reeves and George dawes...
And match the snatch by Roger mellie...
