Just shows its all car and a bit driver as George Russell pulls out 2nd place on the grid for tomorrow's race just 26 thou behind bottas, so really for me I'd say talent only gets you so far but the tools get you all the way. |

It's been a huge thing for years in F1. The drivers in the best cars usually win. I think this pole shows it. Anyone thinging any different is surely not seeing it for how it really is.
Stick Lewis in that Williams every week and I'm sure he'd be struggling too. There isn't much between all the drivers, the car is the biggest difference.
It's not to say Russell will have a good gp. It's a different kettle of fish all together, qualifying and race day. |

"F1 had been like that for years just look at Damon Hill at Williams crap driver unbeatable car, that why I started watching world super bikes plus I am a biker anyway "
I'm not so sure, Damon Hill had so great races in that arrows car after.
I've no doubt if you put them all in the same car Lewis would still be up there purely he has that desire to win, but I think we all know put him in any back markers car and he will be down the bottom scrapping for a top 10 finish every week. |

Hill should have been at least a two time champion with Williams. Would have been had it not been for a cheating German. Hill was a good driver and it showed when he got into the arrows and the Jordan. With inferior equipment he still managed a second in the arrows and a first place in the Jordan. |

"So remind me again what happened today?
I've just looked at the results and Russell finished way down the pecking order.
Pretty sure if Lewis was in his car today, he would have won it "
Im about to watch it, i heard it was a long pitstop or something? Gutted for him, if so...
I think Lewis is one of the few that has that extra bit of talent, hunger/passion for it, whatever you want to call it. Needs to start sorting a contract out though!! |

Its not a case of fastest car wins you need skill to drive that car at that speed.
i went on a bike riding course taken by a very good ex racer called Rocket Ron Haslam. 1 bloke on an R1 (very fast bike) was showing off so Ron said he would give him a race around the track. Ron was on a Honda CG125 top speed around 70mph the other guy was on a bike with a top speed around the 170mph. Ron showed him how to ride a bike that day finishing before him. Skill over speed won the day |

With tenths and sometimes hundredths of a second splitting the top 4 or 5 cars in quali, it comes down to a lot more than the car during the race. Staying out of trouble, looking after tyres, strategy and concentration plays an enormous part in racing. Not many would be able to win a grand Prix on 3 wheels, as did Lewis. |
