"I’ve seen numerous profiles stating “Athletic” what’s your definition some seem to have a vivid imagination. "

I think the definition is different between men and women.
I can't speak for women but for men it would be quite a big build with good muscle definition in my opinion. |

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
I think the body type definitions are appalling and shouldn't have to be used, as it depends on a personal view and is therefore entirely subjective.
Pictures define a body so much better in my view. |

The athletic physique that I find very attractive is the toned, physically fit physique of a runner, cyclist, climber, footballer etc
I must caveat this by saying that this is not the only definition of athletic physique and that I am attracted to a range of physiques

Someone who can run for a bus
Someone who can catch the other twix from a distance of three feet
Someone who can jump over a four foot high wall without falling
Someone who can hold the last note of Whitney Houston’s version of I will always love you without having to take a breath.

Tough one that but it has to be someone who is physically fit and normal for their BMI for their height/weight as a guideline (not applicable to heavily muscled persons as BMI does not work!). |

I'd say it's toned with muscle definition, but it is very subjective...I prefer to look at pictures to gauge attraction, and if I can't see someone's entire body (even if across a few photos), or if every picture is from a very specific angle (usually the one that they think they look best from) then I'll just mark that profile as of no interest. |

On second thoughts it is pretty subjective....saw something on YouTube awhile ago about an MMA fighter who stoated in after a night on the lash and battered the shite out of his opponent. Guy did not look ripped or gym fit but obviously he is athletic! |

This differs widely depending on who you ask. My definition of athletic is someone who isn't visually overweight and presents decent muscle tone / definition and exercises regularly.
All too often i'll see a profile that clearly doesn't fit this description in the available pictures and think "fibber" |

Indeed you often see flabby looking heavyweights in boxing than can fight 12 rounds, which I imagine is a bloody hard think to do without a good level of fitness |

I used to compete nationally in a sport but I’d never describe myself as athletic because I think people assume an athletic woman is slim with visible muscle definition. But I was definitely more athletic than any gym bunny back when I was competing |

It’s a tough one - as each interpretation, depends on what the person describing themselves, views in a mirror.
It isn’t always, the same opinion, someone else may have.
We all have read descriptions and thought |

That would be a bit like me although I've got a belly it's solid under it and rest of my body is toned and muscley.
I know a lot of those athletic looking people wouldn't last two rounds in a ring doing pads. |
