When reading a thread I dutifully read the opening post and then replies that follow, and then post something that pops into my head after that. When I read it back most times I realise I never actually answered the question posed and went off on a tangent somewhere!
So, Do you answer the original question posed or just whatever comes into your head. Does it matter? Will this thread make it?

I always start out with the intention of answering the OP, but then I get distracted, forget what the question actually was, and just waffle
It's even worse if it's an OP with more than one question |

Or I respond to someone else's comment that has nothing to do with the O.P either
Sometimes I'll remember to quote the O.P and then it's there to refer back to. |

Sometimes. Looking back, I don’t think I read the opening post properly or I have misunderstood it and I waffle on
Then I read the whole thread back to myself and realise I’ve made a dick of myself. |
